Re: Favorite part of the game
Heck yeah I was serious, I wouldn't have asked you if I wasn't. So let me get this straight...If I ask an average griz fan who they consider their rival, they are going to say Cal Poly or E Wash? And if you're basing your logic using the word 'routinely' in the sense of competition in a game doesn't apply to Montana State, sans this past years football game, you're completely off the mark. What I conclude is you are wrong on saying MSU isn't really Montana's rival and you cannot admit that you are wrong.tampa_griz wrote:You were serious? Re: Favorite part of the game
Thats where you go wrong Common Cat. Tampa griz isn't your average Griz fan. He just likes pissing you guys off.
Everybody knows Montana and Montana State are the main rivals.
That being said I think any team in the BSC thinks their main rival is Montana. But Montanas is Montana State by far.

Clearly MSU is Montana's primary rival. And that is the one rival MSU has.
Montana has 8 in the BSC alone, and you could probably throw Cal Poly into that mix as well.
And I do believe that from a purely competitive standpoint only, the Griz have rivals who are much larger (and therefore much more worrisome) than the Cats. I think that was Tampa's point.

Re: Favorite part of the game
This all depends on the sport. If you are talking football, then in the last decade or so I would agree that the griz would be the team that the BSC wants to knock off. I wouldn't say they are considered a rival. I think the state of Montana is unique in that we have two schools in the same state in the BSC. I think rivals are based largely on geographic location....ex duke and n.c. I consider Ewash a huge rival for Montana State lately. They seem to eat our lunch everytime we meet lately in football.GrizinWashington wrote:Clearly MSU is Montana's primary rival. And that is the one rival MSU has.

I would disagree with your last statement about the griz having rivals who are much larger and therefore more worrisome than the Cats. If you're not worried about the cats then something is wrong with your program.

Agreed. I was speaking only of football. As I suspect Tampa was as well.Common Cat wrote:This all depends on the sport. And I'm always worried about the Cats. But frankly looking at last year's schedule, there were 4 or 5 games that worried me more.

Re: Favorite part of the game
suggestion: if you click on a poster's name you can then add them as a FOE to you list, then you don't ever have to see their comments on BN unless you want or you see their quotes in someone else's post. i know i've been enjoying BN a lot more lately without having to see the majority of out of state griz posters who are both obsessed with the BOBCATS and upset with life. btw - i only have 2 marked as foes - guess who?

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

No smack intended, but what teams would you be reffering to? I asume Ewash, CP, and Weber...any else?GrizinWashington wrote:Agreed. I was speaking only of football.
