Girls Game
I've been playing and watching basketball for close to 60 years. Today I watched what quite possibly may be the worst fundementlly poor game I've ever witnessed. What's sad is that probably 75% of the errors made in today's game are coaching correctable and should have been addressed long before this point in the season. Forced passes and poor passes, not screening out, poor spacing on the floor, poor shot selection, just to name a few. Add that to 8 or more missed shots from POINT BLANK range and put one in the loss column. A game we could have and should have won results in yet another loss to the Griz. They didn't beat us, we beat ourselves. Coaches need to watch some video and start correcting problems.
A sidenote: From what I 've read about Morales I thought she was most likely a real class act. Not sure after today. She appeared to be on the winer, complainer side when she didn't get her way.
And, as usual, Big Sky officiating was its normal below average acceptable. At least they don't favor one team, they're just plain bad.

Well, you pretty much just hate everyone, don't you?
Just curious: Is it difficult going through life like that?

Not sure which game you were watching, but you are obviously oblivious to what was going on. This was the best defensive effort our team had this season. It's too bad they lost but it was basically a three-point game. Add to all this that Strand and Bussey are finally starting to get healthy and I think they have nowhere to go but up. They have been getting steadily better all season and Bussey is finally starting to play like she's not a freshman anymore. Sure, we missed some off. rebounds in the second half that really would have helped us, but I thought it was one of the better efforts this team has shown this year. Quit grousing. Your claim that you have watched basketball for 60 years carries absolutely no weight around here--superb performances by many of the Cats! Sometimes, the clock just runs out at the wrong time and this was one of those games. They didn't outclass us--they were just ahead when the clock ran out.

Re: Girls Game
34 free throw attempts to our 8 pretty much sums up the game!
The Lady Cats played a terrific defensive game, a couple lapses in the
second half, but kind of hard playing against 6 at times.
Speaking of Morales, she is a great player, but does lack in
class at times....two years ago she flipped off the booster side
crowd here at the "Brick"
Let's pick up a win on the men side tonight!!

if you have been watching basketball for 60 years, don't you understand good defense will cause turnovers and mistakes!!!

Re: Girls Game
I thought the ladies played a great game...but they did try some ill advised passes into the post when the Griz were in the lanes.
We out shot them from 3 8-3, we tied them in rebounds 40-40, we out shot them 38 to 35 % but we also had 19 turn overs to their 10 or 11 and we got out shot at the free throw line 24 to 6! the refereeing was bad...not that we got that many more fouls either....some of the traveling and non calls were amazing.

Re: Girls Game
I thought the ladies played a great game, yes there were some ill advised passed when a jump shot was open that turned into a turnover. As for Moralis been a whiner I think you can thank Perry for that. She got in her face and under her skin from the jump ball to the final buzzer. She was definately frustrated.

Re: Girls Game
Morales has always been a great talent, but there's not many that would consider her to be a "real class act" outside of her particular high school or university's fans. Again, she's an incredible player, and I'll never take anything way from her in that respect...bobcats35 wrote:I've been playing and watching basketball for close to 60 years. I think Saturday's game was one of the greatest Defensive battles around and both teams played some all out tough defense. This game really shows how far the women's game has come and and I was a proud dad to be sitting their with my daughter who is finally fired up about basketball after coming to this game. I was not happy with the outcome but was proud that my daughter saw how basketball should be played.
