Clausen is Chosen BSC Field Athlete of the Week

Montana State’s Casey Clausen has been named the co Big Sky Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced.

Clausen, a junior from Harlowton, threw a personal best 55’11.25” in the shot put at last Friday’s MSU Bobcat Open to lead the conference performance standings going in to the Big Sky Conference meet this weekend. Clausen is qualified for the conference meet in both the shot put and weight throw. Clausen shared the award with Curtis Durocher of Northern Arizona.

Thanks for the mention. Casey walked on and developed himself into a an exceptional technician with the shot, while redefining himself physically. He ran 50 sets of stairs daily, and modified his diet to reduce from 280 to an athletic 217. He has a very positive spirit, and is strong in every way. He was up at 4 AM Sunday, made the trip back from Flagstaff, and went straight to the track for practice in the snow with teammate Morgan Norgaard. Unstoppable.

=D^ =D^ =D^ Great story. It takes tremendous dedication to accomplish something like that. Nice to hear about these types of efforts. Please pass on our congrats from Bobcat Nation.
