My favorite Lulay moment was when he threw for 4 touchdown passes, 400+ yards, ran for 100 yards, and beat the Griz for the 3rd time in his career, sparking the Cats run to the National Championship....

OOPS! My bad...

I'm about 6 months early with this...

SORRY!

In other words, I believe Mr. Lulay has some very special memories in store for us...

(and griz fans, please don't hijack this into another smack thread!)

Yep, ditto. In fact we watched the last minute or 2, then the overtime, hanging over the rails on the way out. Never a doubt...

That punt that went from 20 yard line to 20 yard line last year (against WSU?). When the roll punt works, it's very cool to see.

Hell's Bells: I hate to be a stickler for spelling errors, but it is LulAy not Luley. He is will probably our all time leading passer, and has almost single handedly restored pride to our program, I think the least we can do is pay him the honor of spelling his name correctly.

P.S. My favorite moment was also the NAU game. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

NAU - 2003 - 'Nuff said. 8) Doesn't relate to Lulay, but that was the best onside kick I have ever seen in my life. Absolutley perfect.

EDIT:

I never leave games early - even if we're losing by 30. Hell, I paid for the ticket, I'm stayin' till its over (hehe). It's kind of a tradition my family has developed. After all, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings..."

All I have to say is Sac State 2002! Do you guys remember that ending, or did you turn off your radios before the fat lady had sung?

Was that the field goal with no time on the clock game? If so, I remember watching that one on TV. A truly unbelievable ending!

I'll never forget that game because I was hunting elk, listening to headphones on top of a mountain, and I shot a spike bull during the 3rd quarter. Needless to say, I probably looked a little strange gutting an elk and occasionally yelling and screaming for no apparent reason.

That was a good day... 8)

There was no time left on the clock, but the game wasn't on TV. It was only on radio. The SDSU game last year came down to the wire with a FG winning it (wasn't that homecoming?).

No homecoming was against Weber State last year but a last second 47 yard field did win it. We had three thrillers in a row - Weber, SDSU, and PSU.

Hmm, could have sworn I watched the Sac State one on Omega, maybe I just had a good imagination and could visualize everything thanks to Dean's great commentary! Either way I do remember it.

The only reason that I remember that it wasn’t on TV was cause my wife was listening to the game and she turned of the radio because Dean said that the game was over (she would have been watching it on TV if it were on). She found out that we won in the morning when she opened up the Chronicle. She said that she was running through her house yelling and screaming- her roommates were not happy.

That was the game where we threw a short pass and we were tackled in bounds (no timeouts) as time expired (what is bailey thinking!?!?!). WAIT a second...flag on the play. A sac state player was flagged for pass interferance, 15 yards later we kick a field goal and win the game. The game was not televised, but there were replays on the news that showed the PI call was correct and occured before time expired. There is no way we should have pulled that one out, but we did thanks to a bonehead play by a sac state player.

It was actually a facemask penalty (which was blatant). Lulay takes the snap as the clock expires on 4th down (with no input from Bailey -- they were way beyond the point of calling plays) and just throws it up blindly. Turnquist catches it about 10 yards down the field and is tackled ... game over. Except ... for the vicious facemask on Turnquist by the tackler (bonehead play). No time on the clock, and Cook lines up for a 35 to 40 yarder (can't remember exact distance). The kick is ugly, but IT'S GOOD!!!! BOBCATS WIN!!! It pandemonium on the Bobcat side of the field, and all 8,000 Bobcat fans (we'll use the Griz counting methodology, although there were a lot of Cat fans there) go crazy.

I was sitting right behind Cook's parents and family. It was quite a fun thing to be a part of, and was arguably the turning point in the MSU program. Finally, the Cats catch a break. How long had it been since the football gods smiled on the Cats and gave them a chance for this kind of comeback?

I sit through every game wondering "what is Bailey thinking?" I am not convinced that the man does think. We catch a break and win the game and Bailey is the hero! Lets keep our mediocre coach around for another season and make him the assistant head coach! Great idea, reward the poorest employee who must be one hell of an ass kisser to make it this far!
