I used to be a big fan of faith-based programs on the principal that a private agency with an infrastructure in place was probably more efficient at accomplishing a social cause task than a government agency. I was a little leery of the proselytizing and discrimination factor that is an inherent risk with a program like that, but I also assumed that as long as the charity was a completely separate entity as the parent organization, it was more than doable.
Then I read stories about agencies like this, and suddenly I find my hope dashed and my opinion shifting. It appears that even letting this group get license plate money (from pro-life license plates ... not sure if political cause license plates are really necessary to begin with -- if you like to make political statements via car, buy a bumper sticker and then make a donation to the charity directly instead without making the state the middleman) is a bad idea. Let them discriminate without any aid of any kind from the state, as is their right.

ALL religions/faiths are CULTS! What's worse is they breed the worst kind of fanatics. Fanaticism in any venue (except Bobcat sports) is bad but the religious ones are over the top. "More people have died in the name of GOD, ALA or whatever, then for all other reasons combined".
We need to start taxing religions and exposing them for what they are before more people (sheep) get pulled down by there poison!

I definitely agree on the taxation part. They should be taxed no differently than, say, a fraternal organization or other social club.gtapp wrote:ALL religions/faiths are CULTS! I have a hard time saying that anything else you say is wrong -- there are definitely a lot of examples that support what you say. Not everyone, but definitely some.
