End of an Era (at least for me)
Having dedicated much of my time to the sport of Power Lifting for the last ten years I am finally converting to Body Building (as of Jan. 1). This means I will have to eat a little crow since I have always referred to my body building friends as my Gay Buddies since I could never understand why anyone would lift weights for any other purpose but to get stronger. I have always respected them but just didn't see the point. Now, I am going to become one of them. I knew this day would come but I fought it off for as long as I could. Having endured surgeries, broken bones, pulled muscles, torn muscles, permanently damamged joints, chipped knee cap, dislocated joints and countless sleepless nights I had no choice but to wave the white flag. Starting Jan 1 I will eat and work out like a body builder trying to get my body fat down to 8% by June. Each time someone would ask me if I was a competitive body builder I would always respond:" Do you see me carrying a purse"? Now I will have to just pretend I am hard of hearing.
PS: Yes, I know no one gives a damn but posting is one way that helps me deal with the fact that age is finally starting to win the war.

Getting old sucks. I had to give up the most-competetive softball level in Seattle when I didn't even see a line drive whiz by my ear.
Now I'm wondering if I can hold onto my 4.5 tennis rating.
Good luck in the new adventure, Gary! Just kick their a-- if they make fun of you!!

Awww, it's OK! There are a lot of not too gay guys that come to Body Pump regularly
And after a few classes they can even keep up with us girls!
( I love to see big muscle heads come in and look like they're going to teach us a thing or two, only to be dragging after the first 3 tracks!!)
