Wow Griz fans are really pissed about this. I knew the Griz were many things, now you can add hypocrites to that list.
This isn't just Montanans voting either. Go back to egriz and continue to bicker about Baby Hauck and whine about the turf.

You need to leave Western Montana on an occasion. Pretty much East of Bozeman is all Bobcat country. So there is a pretty healthy population of Bobcat fans in Montana.Nick wrote:I understand you picking the Cats as the states favorite team....even though everyone knows different.
I must also add, I am really surprised how hard the Griz fans are taking the results of the ESPN pole. You guys usually take the high road. You never hear excuses from the Griz faithful!

Poll Complaints:
Where is Carroll College on the poll? Shouldn't they be on the list of favorite Montana Teams?
Shouldn't Carrolls 3 consecutive NAIA National Titles be on the list somewhere? I don't care what level of college athletics you're at, three national titles in a row is impressive.
Last minor complaint - the Brewers, Osprey, etc should be listed under pro teams.
Just a few comments.

Okay so basically you are saying that the Griz mostly have Western Montana -- and the Cats have Eastern Montana.......Good.......now go compare the populations in those regions....mquast53000 wrote:You need to leave Western Montana on an occasion. :
Also the Griz have a huge fanbase in the Eastern Washington/Spokane/Northern Idaho area, and a few around Portland.
I agree with whoever said that Carroll needs to be on the list. Do they have the most NAIA titles in a row or did they tie that record?

Bobcat faithful...
How come we are not hitting the ESPN site with the same energy that the teddy bears up the road are? They are mobilizing on EGriz and making an effort to tip the poll in their favor... why can't we do the same?
Regardless of the poll questions (yes, Carroll should have been on there, as should the MSU basketball national title, and the MSU 1984 national football title), but this is the poll we have, so lets make the best of it.

Isn't it the state's most exciting moment? I didn't know that MSU had won a national basketball title until just a couple years ago. Yes it's ignorance that plagued me but if it's the state's most exciting moment why is it rarely mentioned?FiveApples wrote:Bobcat faithful...

By the way, Montana has 32,000 votes. I believe that has to be the most of any state. This should show SportsCenter who has the best rivalry in the country - I-A or I-AA.

I think the point is, there are other exciting moments in this state that those listed by some ESPN intern. I (personally) think the latest MSU win over UM in Missoula was a little more exciting than UM beating Marshall in 1995.
As far as the votes, maybe you should check some of the other states. Try Texas, for example. Of course, the way the votes are stacking up now (over 3000 since this monring), maybe you and your buddies can catch us up to Texas. Go get em, tiger...[/quote]

To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains.

The biggest impact has happened since they started advertising it on the radio this morning in the Missoula area. At least this morning is the 1st time I heard it on the radio.FiveApples wrote:Bobcat faithful...

I can't beleive how big hypocrites Griz fans are. I was over on efriz and it is completely insane how much they are b****ing about the poll. I agree there was way too much ballot stuffing, but it's not like they weren't doing any of it. If they were still in the lead, we would be getting so much s*** about how much they think we suck and how great UM is. I'm so tired of UM's arrogance and selfishness.

Could not agree more. The absolute truth.mquast53000 wrote:I thought it was funny how when they were winning in the polls that it meant that the Griz were superior, but when they started to lose it didn’t matter because the poll was b.s.
