I just saw an interview with ol Baby Hauck. Is it just me or is MTV's Beavis, Bobby Hauck's love child??? Enquiring minds want to know.

I did not see that one but I have watched this guy on the post game shows the UofM has and this guy is bad. After watching his players show class and give credit due when the Cats beat the Fizzles in Missoula Hauch got on and whined like I have never seen... blaming the officials and smack talking as much as he could. He had done this time and again since he has been in Fizzle land and it amazes me that a program that has bread the success it has can tolerate him. Time will show this guy is still living off the Don Read / Joe Glenn era remants of the program and it will start suffering soon!

Don't let the facts get in the way of your cool statement, however, Hauck wasn't coaching the Griz the last time the cats won in Missoula...
Oh well, don't let it ruin your story...

My mistake Bozgriz... you were right on the location. But the program and performance of Baby Hauck were still the same! I have good friends who are Griz season ticket holders and they are pretty vocal about getting rid of Baby Hauck. I just don't believe her represents the quality of the Griz program well at all... nor the state of Montana.

If Hauck was a kittie coach and took you to the championship game your attitude would be different.
Its like dating the girl with a nice personality. By any other name shes a DOG!!! Just like your Coach-
Nice Guy with no chance to win a National Championship
You all know you would take the HOT BABE thats got a screw loose over the one with a nice personality.
So keep hoping Krames will do the Job- but In the end all he has is a nice personality!!!!!

Hauck is like the geek in high school that got to date the lead chearleader. Eventually she is going to dump him and start screwing the quarterback. you see hauck is luckey to have his first coaching job at a school like U. of M. Normally on your first coaching gig you would have to build up your program to the point that the griz are to be able to get to the national championship, which is what Kramer is doing.
Hauck would only last one year in Bozeman because the AD would see him for the snake he is and get rid of him, just like a lot of our W.B.B. coaches
This space for rent....

Scats,
I sure as hell wouldn't call Hack a Hot Babe but, there is no doubt he has a screw loose. He has mental illness written all over his face whenever he is interviewed.
Even though the griz could use the softest schedule in the Big Sky as an excuse this year, it wil interesting to see if Mr. class and charisma has a job by spring.

Wow, I'm having trouble following the logic of this paragraph. Let me see if I can translate your analogy:Hell's Bells wrote:Hauck is like the geek in high school that got to date the lead chearleader. Eventually she is going to dump him and start screwing the quarterback.
Hauck is the geek, and UM is the lead cheerleader. Eventually the lead cheerleader is going to dump Hauck (i.e. he's going to get canned)...ok, I'm with you so far.
But, question: in this little analogy of yours, who in the name of God is the "quarterback," and what exactly do you mean when you say UM is going to start "screwing" this mythical person?

You can’t really compare Kramer and Huack. Kramer took a position that the previous coach was fired from. Hauck took over a team that the coach left for a better gig because he was winning. Two different coaches coming into to VERY different situations. Kramer was for the most part left with a team in disarray, and Hauck was handed a team that was in the playoffs the previous year. You can not compare their successes because Kramer has had to fight tooth and nail to get a winning team, and Hauck had to maintain the status quo. Kramer sure has proven more at MSU then Hauck has at UM.

Kudos to Kramer for remodeling the condemned house he was given. However, its not a house on the hill yet!
Hauck took a program that has always been successful and returned it to the promised land of a championship game. You can't take away from that! In that respect, Hauck did more for his program simply because of the pressure out there to maintain success. Its a lot more painful to fall from the top of the ladder than from the bottom rung...

Boz,
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!!!!!!
It is 1000 times more difficult to take a program in shambles and make it respectable (say what you want, but MSU preseason rankings in various polls shows we HAVE earned respect) than it is to KEEP a top program at or near the top.
I'm not going to run a poll here but I'll guarantee you that a majority of unbiased football fans would rank Kramer's achievements above Hauck's, given the starting points both coaches inherited.
Yes, booby was at the helm when the Griz returned to the title game (after losing AT HOME in the first round during his first season) but let's analyze:
1) Craig Ochs WAS NOT a bh recruit; bh inherited the one guy most responsible for the Griz success in last years playoffs.
2) ALL of the seeds above the Griz in the playoffs were upset by lower-ranked teams which enabled UM to play at home until the title, a HUGE advantage. bh had NOTHING to do with those other seeds losing before the Griz would've had to travel and play any of them on foreign turf. The Griz road record last year? 2 - 3.
3) Despite showing some signs of life in the playoffs, the Griz defense was still statistically one of the worst in the nation and got MANHANDLED in the second half of the NC game.
Compare that to Kramer taking a team that had not sniffed the postseason in nearly 20 years and claiming 2 Big Sky titles in his first 4 seasons, despite having to recruit against an obviously more-successful program 200 miles to the West; a program which CLEARLY (at the time, anyway) was far more attractive to any incoming recruit than MSU's.
Hauck's next 2 seasons are really going to tell us what kind of coach & (more importantly) recruiter he is. The kids wearing Griz uniforms are now mostly his & we'll see how well he's done to maintain the tradition started by Denny Washington & Don Read. If Hauck ever gets an opportunity to build a team from the ground up, the way Kramer has, I have no doubt that he'll fail even more miserably than Mick Dennehy did.
The only thing Kramer hasn't done yet is take the Cats deep into the playoffs, a feat we know he CAN do based on his success at EWU. I'm confident that his current team is poised to make that run; thank God we get to start finding out soon...

Grizzlies: 2-5 when it matters most
Relax Gato...
I'm not taking away from Kramer and the job he's done. The msu program was in shambles when he got here and he's done well to bring it back to the pack.
However, you guys constantly bitch about BH and claim he's done nothing but ride the coattails of the long string of A+ coaches at UM. I disagree. He took a team that lined up 8 freshman at one point, against msu, on defense, with the game still in doubt. That same group went to the National Championship Game...Sell him short all you want, that showed me and all Griz fans something about his ability as a coach.
Kramer has to win now. At some point cat fans will tire of the 6-5 or 7-6 season and call for Kramer's head. Disagree? Call and ask Cliff Hysell...

1. I could, and probably am wrong, but didn't Hauck at recruit Ochs to Colorado? Does it really matter if he recruited Ochs?
2. This old "the Griz got lucky arguement". Did you ever think the rankings going into the playoffs were not right? Ever think the best teams won? Just a thought.
Sure homefield advantage was in play and did work out for the Griz, but homefield advantage isn't a gimme. The Griz dominated every playoff game except the chipper. And they certainly showed well offensively in that game. The Griz worked with in the rules, and made it the the NC, only one other team in the country can say that.
3. Yes the D was statistically poor, at least in most categories. Turnovers was not one of them. Also, if you check Defensive Pass Efficiency you will find the Griz pretty high on the list. So some credit needs to be given, and dispite the D most think was not good, again, the Griz did make it to the final game of the year, something only one other team did...and it wasn't Kramer's cats.
For some odd reason, cat fans seem to think this is something easy to accomplish, or that it just happens, even as you dust off your trophy from 1984.

I am relaxed Boz, you don't want to see me "worked up".
Listen, I've said this 1000 times: Hysell sniffed 1 BSC title and we gave him 8 seasons. Kramer's already won 2 of them and was within 1 game and couple of minutes of getting #3. The fact you griz can't understand/accept is that we actually LIKE our coach and the job he's done to date. Will we still feel this way if he goes 6-5 or worse this year or next? I can't speak for all Cats but as long as the guy has us in the hunt with a game or 2 to go more seasons than not, I'd have no problem keeping him around.
The bottom line for me is that whenever I'm around him, Kramer makes me feel confident about our program and that good things ARE coming. I also know that he gives us 100%, all the time, and that is all I could ask of my head coach. He is extremely personable and although some see it as phony-ness, I'm ALWAYS pleased when he greets me and asks how my kids & my folks are doing because he's met them all and he remembers them all. That ability is a gift; it's not something you can learn or fake, IMO, and Coach simply has it. It's obvious what his charisma has meant to the overall attitude (and bankroll) in the MSU Athletic Department. IMO, we couldn't have found a better guy for the job...
