Re: Bozeman is Montana's pot capital
Wow, I had no idea there were that many providers in the state. One provider for every three registered users in Gallatin County? Doesn't seem like a good business proposition to me. I'm all for the medical marijuana, but it's very obvious from these stats that something is fishy here.
Retiring my moniker. It's time to ride off into the sunset. It's been a fun ride. Go Cats.

Re: Bozeman is Montana's pot capital
man I really hate to interject logical information on the smack board but here goes....
The reason there are so many more medical marijuana patients and caregivers in Bozeman is because the Montana Care Givers network had clinics in Bozeman 6 different (possibly 7) weekends last fall they charged $250 for a license and $500 for a caregiver license. Didn't take long after the first weekend or two for the information to get out.

Re: Bozeman is Montana's pot capital
So I've been wanting to rant about this for awhile now. This seems to be just as good a thread as any:
#1 Marijuana is a narcotic. Do not fool yourself. It upsets your sense of judgement, coordination, and frame of mind. You ARE NOT safer driving a vehicle under the influence of marijuana than alcohol. However, I also believe that there are worse things you can do in your off time than Marijuana. It is better than drinking yourself stupid every ... See Morenight, shooting into your arm, or snorting lines. But do not fool yourself; Marijuana is a gateway drug and statistics show you are more likely to try harder things if you are already allowing yourself to smoke marijuana. Studies also show that marijuana will have long term affects on long term memory and your overall mental health altogether.
#2 NOBODY NEEDS marijuana. Just like nobody needs a drink. I think people look towards using marijuana as a medicinal drug because using something "natural" seems more appealing than using a manufactured drug. Plus it makes you feel good and forget all your worries.....ADDICTION
#3 Do not fool yourself by calling your shop a "clinic" and do not make yourself look like an ass by calling yourself a "care-giver"....you are a DRUG DEALER and you have just found a loop-hole to make it easier and legal alternative to sell your product.
#4. Montana communities are small areas and most areas have very little for the youth to do. These "clinics" as they call them have no place within city limits. Most of the "Caregivers" are long-time dealers that have never had a problem providing their product to whoever had money. Doesn't matter if it was a child, teenager, or grandpa. As long as they had the money they provided. Do you really think this is going to stop? NO! All these "clinics" are doing is making it easier for the "Care Giver" to distribute their product. How many of these "care givers" are actually going to stop at just dealing marijuana? Think about it.
#5 There needs to be extremely more regulation on who can get a green card. There is basically no regulation on it now. When I see my dentist next week all I would have to do is tell him my jaw really hurts cuz I grind my teeth and night and he could give me a recommendation to my physician to get a green card for the "Medicinal" use of marijuana.
#6 Many people are going to take advantage of #5, just like any other program that gets taken advantage of. There are maybe a handful of people that actually "need" marijuana to cope with an illness. The others are going to get their green card, legally by the product, then turn around and sell it for a marked up price or use it at their big house party this weekend and brag about how easy it was to get it.
#8 Again. There are far worse things you can do than smoke marijuana. Howeverm it is a Narcotic and it IS addictive. I am not preaching by any means. I have abused tobacco, also addictive, and I enjoy alcohol, also addictive. These "clinics" as they so call them, have no place in city limits.
Just my two cents. Feel free to argue with me if you please.

I think you are being a little dramatic here. Yes Marijuana is a harmful, dangerous powerful drug but Alcohol and Fox News are also narcotics under your definition.BearCat wrote:So I've been wanting to rant about this for awhile now. This seems to be just as good a thread as any:

Is nothing sacred anymore?
Seriously get off of Bozeman for being the pot capital they have to deal with loss more than any of us combined. I understand their need to be high as fu*k as much of their adult lives as possible
Chill out people.
