By the way, thank you for the nasty pm, El Gato. If you want to act that way towards another poster, please do so on the public boards so that everyone can see exactly what kind of person you are and what you think passes as acceptable behavior.

I've gotten numerous nasty and personally insulting pm's from El Gato in the past, and it's getting old.

It is possible to disagree with somebody without resorting to name calling and personal insults. It really is. If you don't want to answer my questions or admit that you've caught yourself in a rhetorical quagmire, so be it, but hold off on the name calling, okay?

Oh, and thanks for your concern for my future, but I'm really not too worried about whether someone thinks I pathetic and/or a loser, or that I'm going to turn into a sad lonely old man someday. With all due respect to the person who would hold such opinions of me, I actually a pretty happy guy with plenty of good friends. Again, though, thanks for your concern.

For the record, I use PM's because the grievance is between BAC & me and doesn't involve others on the board. He knows ALL my relevant personal data, so he's more than able to respond in kind. From my perspective, that is the appropriate place to air private "battles", and handling personal issues via pm's has been requested numerous times here and on egriz.

Since he requested, here is my final PM to BAC.

"I did dump your last 2 pm's to me and I will do likewise with any new one's. I also am done responding to ANYTHING you put on the boards.

You're pathetic. Have a nice life, loser. You're going to be a sad, lonely old man someday..."

Yep, I called him a name. And I made a prediction.

This was written because I'm simply tired of nearly every post I make in the Hangout turning into an argument with BAC. From where I stand, BAC goes out of his way to find reasons/points/issues to disagree with me on; not necessarily because he truly believes his position, but just to take the opposite view, argue, and (in his own mind, anyway) win. Sorry, but that's not why I come here. I have no problem with ANYONE disagreeing with my viewpoints but BAC takes these things TOO far, IMO, and I'm done with it. If I'm overreacting, so be it; the fact is I'm really tired of it as I'm sure most of the Nation is as well (sorry, rebecca). If there was an "ignore" option here, I'd use it on BAC; I'm sure many here would use it on me as well.

Sorry for those of you who wasted the last minute or two reading this; trust me, you won't have to any longer. Hopefully one of the other admins will break this section out in case any of you still wish to discuss the original intent of the thread.

PS I've been sitting here, thinking about all this and I'm actually thinking that most of you don't give a flying f#*&. Which is good.

And silly ol' me just thought I was involved in a a fun debate on an interesting topic.

Sorry for not caving in to your various assertions about NBA players and their pot habits without challenging them. I am not just trying to "win" a debate -- I just disagree with you when you say something that I disagree with or when I think an issue needs to be expanded upon. Sorry for not simply posting a string of happy faces behind every, ummm, assertive statement you post.

So which part really put you over the top? Seriously, I'm curious.

And for the record, it has never been a grievance between you and me. It has only been a grievance for you. That's why I am tired of getting the attacking pm's from you. It never went the other way, nor would it ever go the other way. When I am debating with someone, I have no reason to take it to a personal name-calling level.

That could be because I am a pretty happy person. :D

This is VERY Disappointing!!!!!!!!!!! This site and its members have done an excellent job of keeping this site civil and fair. It has been great! Even most of the Griz posters have been pretty fair and resonable. Now This! I know Brad (a little) and he is a really good guy. Friendly and willing to show a stranger a good time (me). El Gato seems very resonable and has very thoughtful posts. I would bet that if you guys met you would feel differently. BAC, if you are coming to a game this year lets all have a beer together and put this thing to bed. Lets not let this site become the second coming of Egriz!

gtapp,

You don't have to worry about the Nation turning into the bitch session that egriz has become. I'm done warring with BAC and I've already fought off the urge to respond to his claims of innocence in this situation, so I think I'm well on the road to recovery!

Don't worry, be happy! :D

el gato-

don't worry i don't like bitch sessions, i like intelligent debate. I'm more of a fluff girl, but I do like learning from opposing view points. as for Brad, what i know of him is that he is a good guy, and enjoy seeing things from a different view point than my own. he's been nice to me.

Guys, I think you both probably said a few things that were taken out of context, wouldn't have been said if you were face-to-face, or both. I don't think it's necessary to ignore each other's posts. The discussions we've had to this point will not be the same without your views in the mix. I have my differences with some posters here, and I'm sure they've got their differences with me--but none of us have resorted to being impolite.

I'm not asking you to "kiss and make up," but I am asking both of you to be civil towards each other...for all our sakes.

Hey Gary -- I think the meeting up in person with a beer in hand is the perfect answer, and I look forward to it. I'm assuming there will be some sort of BN gathering at Homecoming and/or Cat/Griz, so I'm looking forward to meeting EG and everyone else (that I haven't already met) there.

Once people put a face to a name, it tends to change everything.
