Predictions page????????

Post by orsalak » Thu Sep 01, 2005 8:35 pm

Last year we had a great page where everyone wrote their predictions on how the game was going to unfold before each game. Since the countdown clock says 1 day left (i don't look at the hours) let me be the first to start it this year. I think it will be close but the cats lose at the end of the game by 2 touchdowns. OSU 28 CATS 14

22-0

I think this game will mimic the past game where we played Washington State. It will be interesting to see how they handle the heat. I bet we sub in our corners quite a bit etc. I have two projections.

If we can stop the run: 38-24

If we can't stop the run: 52-17

I agree with CC.

If we can stop the run, we have a chance.

I hate picking a score, so I won't :?

Let's stay healthy :)

To be honest the way things look in Stillwater I would say that the Cats are going to put some points on the board. Yet in the same breath, I think our defense is going to have a real tough time slowing down their offense. I bet the score will be 48-31 OSU.

If I were picking with my heart and not my head I would say the score would be 28-21 MSU.

My hope is that A) our offense plays as well as we expect and B) our defense can keep their running attack from dominating the game.

I would love to see us get 300 total yards and put at least a couple of touchdown drives (50+ yards) together to show that our O IS for real. If our D holds their ground game to less than 4.5 yards/carry, that will be a good sign. If we hold them to less than 400 total yards, again I'll feel pretty good. If OSU's offense surpasses those #'s, we really won't know how good our D might be until SFA; if OSU goes nuts (500+ yards, 40+ points) it will not be good but even so, it may just be that they are that much better than ANY IAA team...

If I were to bet on this game, I'd have to get at least 17 points. If we finish closer than that, we could be in for something special!

Hmmmmm...let's see young team with new offense, big 12, lots of speed, our new defense, no Gatewood. we score qa couple early and hold a lead up to the half 21-17. then in the second half their athleticism depth and speed take over and we lose this one 41-28

I think the score will be something along the lines of 42-17, with OSU scoring on a few big plays to make the score a little more lopsided than the game actually is.

You don't have a DB that can cover D'juan Woods. If you do not respect him he will eat your DB's alive.

Good luck guys, here's to no injuries and for the Bobcat's to go on a season long winning streak after they lose to OSU.

Hope some of you can make it down here.

Time will tell. The BSC has some great receivers. Kimble, Amey, pick a griz(generally), Greatwood. We'll see.

I've been pondering this one all day- tough one to call.

OSU CB's are young with little experience, so if Lulay & our receivers click right off the bat we should score some points. I think we'll have an effective running game this year, but have my doubts how we'll do tomorrow. Their D line is huge and is used to playing smash mouth football. Hopefully our O can control the ball enough give the D a rest.

They're using a new offensive scheme, which will probably lead to some penalties. Special teams will be key. Need a good kicking game and good returns. Doubt if they'll fumble much, but we might have a shot at a couple picks.

Hopefully we can keep it close until half time, but they have depth and eventually the heat & humidity will take its toll on us, they're acclimated to those conditions- we're not.

If we can stop the run it could go either way.

I'd love to see an upset, but realistically don't think it'll happen.

Ideally- MSU 28 OSU 24

More likely- MSU 28 OSU 42

Now- Let's get ready for some football!! Go 'Cats!!

Lets see here. We lost wolf, eddie, and now gatewood. Three of four recievers. Lulay and the receivers had very good chemistry but they are all new except guinn. That will not spell a win. nice rhyme huh. Passing game looks average and the run game wont be real great. We get run all over but pass d looks good. Special teams will be ok but give up one score.

I see us making a decent showing and we will be much improved by the end of the game.

OSU 42
MSU 17

But if passing game proves me wrong and picks up where it left off we will have a shot. I think their O will struggle through the air quite a bit.
