Tickets not paid for!!

I was looing to get some input from the Nation on how to address this issue. Back in October I was going to be unable to attend a Cat game and offered them for sale here. I got a pm and arranged to meet the buyer after my kids game in Billings. I waited about 45 minutes after our scheduled time and he wrote me a check and I game him the tickets. I get a call on Monday or Tuesday of the next week saying that he wrote the check out of a closed account and asked me not to deposit the check and he would send me a check out of the new account. The original check was written on October 22, 2010 and as of todayJanuary 24, 2011. I have not received the replacement check. I have left a couple of messages on his cell phone, PM'ed him back, left a message on his home answering machine and mailed a note with my address to him.

My question to the Nation is what would you do? I don't need the money but the fact that he has not made an effort to get a hold of me, bothers me. If he had called as said times are tough I can't pay you I probably would have said forget about it, but to be blown off like this kind of pisses me off.

Your a pretty big guy, I wouldn't think breaking a couple thumbs would be too tough.

Did you ever get paid? We had this happen to us on craigs list, got our money thru the County Attorney's Office. I think I still have the info if you want it. That is really ******.......

Have not got paid yet. I am going to contact him once more and then maybe I will out him on the Nation so no one else gets burned. I would hate to bother the County Attorney's office over such a small amount. The ones I know are busy as hell will real criminals.

Out him...he's had more than enough time to make good...you're far too patient.

Let us know who it was! I have had to get rid of tickets in the past and pondered asking on here but for this reason I have not. I am sure 99% of the people on here would honor there comitment but I would like to know that 1% that doesn't.

Whenever I do bidness with the nation, I tend to make sure the person is a regular poster, how long they have been a member, post count, etc. I did the season ticket package with rutgerscat, and I was nervous since he had about 1 post if I remember correctly. I messaged rtb and made sure the guy was legit, and it worked out perfectly. Sorry you got burned, but unfortunately hat is the nature of the internet sometimes.

The check came in the mail yesterdy with an note appologizing for losing the info and then finding it. Therefore I will not out him. Maybe he saw the thread maybe he did not but the appology meant more than the check.
