Explain THIS One To Me?

Post by Bleedinbluengold » Tue Sep 13, 2005 2:05 pm

The ex-public official (Dasen) in Kalispell gets 2 years for prostitution of minors while the guy in Choteau who was accused of plotting to kidnap Letterman's kid has all those charges dropped and instead he gets 10 YEARS for charging Letterman too much for painting work.

Couldn't find the link for the other case in the Missoulian online, but it was in the print version.

So, what's up with that?

El G - you live in Kalispell. WTF?

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

First of all, Dasen wasn't a public official, he was a local businessman (some people say business leader but I refuse). Second, he was sentenced to 20 years, with 18 suspended.

The only thing I can say here is that I was disgusted with this LIGHT sentence as well, especially when you consider 2 things. #1, apparently during his sex-offender evaluation process, Dasen made it clear throughout that he STILL doesn't believe he did anything wrong. #2, the sex-offender professional apparently feels that Dick is on longer a threat to repeat his past offenses; ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He did this crap for over 20 years, says he still doesn't think it's wrong, but he won't do it again??

I don't know Dasen's prior connections with the judge and/or other law enforcement people in Kalispell, but this smells to me of someone being let off the hook because of their connections.

20 months in the Big House (sorry PA guy) in Deer Lodge won't be any fun for Little Dick, but I was sure as hell hoping he'd get at least 10 years.

that's BS!!!!

20 with 18 suspended ='s two and he deserves to serve more than that. nation wide we are soft on sleaze balls like this. I can tell you on Aug. 18th i went before a female judge in Snohomish Co. Superior court here in WA. A repeat sex offender was given 1 year in county lock up and 4 months probabtion. he was allowed to plea down from 10 years prison term for various sex offenses if he'd agree to enter a guilty to Voyeurism.
just makes me sick!!!!!!!!!

sorry el gato, but this sleazy guy is going to wondering around your town shorter than 2 years.

Well, lucky for us (yeah, right) he's not eligible for parole during those 2 years, according to what I was told by one of the County Attorneys.

It's still not enough, but I'm hoping he gets an eye-opener (hehe) in Deer Lodge.
