Paint it Blue at MSU

Post by CelticCat » Mon Sep 19, 2005 6:39 pm

Just a reminder - we are going to try to fill the stadium in a sea of blue for the NDSU game. They have posters all over campus so this may actually happen in decent numbers.

The official T-shirts are being sold at Universal Athletics!

Let's do this!

Doesn't look like the weather is going to be too kind to this promotion! Another cold and rainy day.

Just buy a size up and wear it over your coat. :) Or buy a blue poncho or something!

Just talked to a guy at work who went to buy some of the $10 paint it blue shirts and they are pretty much sold out he said. A few left, but no big sizes.

At ten bucks a shirt I'm sure UAS is making very little profit on these, and they probably didn't want to be stuck with a load of them, although they should be selling these the entire season methinks.

That depends on how many they sold... if they already sold like 4000, I won't be too upset they ran out. =]

Not to mention this was not all about those particular shirts. They want everyone in blue so they were selling those cheap for anyone who needed a blue shirt. Anyone who already has a blue shirt/sweatshirt/jersey/etc. didn't really need to buy one.

I'll be wearing a dark blue jacket as opposed to the dark blue t-shirt they're selling, but the point is that most people probably won't bother wearing a t-shirt over their other clothes...maybe they should try this again at the Cat/Griz BB game.

Being as I was unable to make the first game, I cant wait to see how they look tomorrow. I hope the rain doesnt detour people from wearing their blue. Finally, after all these years, MSU is finally getting with it.

A sea of blue, it will look awesome tomorrow and will look even better for basketball games. Somebody should get a photo of the student side "paintin' it blue".

I spoke with one of the sales guys down at UAS yesterday. He said they are planning on selling shirts at the game with a station set up on both sides of the stadium. My guess is they must have more shirts available.

Anyone know where to get some blue ponchos? :)

Are they doing the same promotion for next week vs. ISU?
Just curious.

I see no reason as why this shouldn't be a permanent campaign. If we do it sucessfully for a year or two, it will become tradition and they won't have to market anymore.

IMO it did not look very "blue" at the game this weekend. There was a variety of shades of blue but it did not really make an impact. Yellow really stood out but we are not called "big blue" for nothing.

Can't remember when they quit doing it, but the UAS shack used to sell blue ponchos w/ the Cat emblem on the back. Don't know if they were nylon or plastic as I never bought one- hell half my wardrobe is Blue and Gold!

I still think yellow & gold would stand out more. But as long as they say blue I will wear it (of course I will still have on my gold hat).
