WBB Tourney - Bobcats vs Lady Griz III

Well it is finally here the WBB tourney where it it totally wide open. After showing how good the Lady Griz could be by partially stomping us twice they turn around decide the basket is not their friend any more and lose to two teams that didn't even qualify for the tournament.

The Bobcats have the bench to win 3 games in row but UM may prove to be the most difficult matchup in the first round of playoffs for the Lady Cats. The Griz play great defense and have three really good post players not to mention 3 point shooting of Torry Hill and Smith.

Keys to Bobcat win:
1) Match intensity of Lady Griz on the loose balls and rebounds

2) Limit turnovers

3) Freshman must shine: There will be a ton of pressure on Semansky and Bussey to carry this team and they need all the help they can get. Elliot has shown flashes of being able to put up a triple double with her all around play. If she can reach double figures and play intense defense she could be a huge factor. Durham - she is alway causing trouble on defense and if she can get hot during the game, she is capable of putting up 15-20 points.

4) Banis - she needs to start to make most of those shots she is taking and be aggressive. Her size could really wreak havoc on UM post play.

5) Cole and Adams - great 2 guards that play really good defense. They need to show they are willing to take the ball to the hole. When Erica Perry in previous years was aggressive getting to the basket, the Lady Griz showed that they struggled with that part of their defense.

Its going to be a great game. No matter if they win or lose, I really enjoyed watching them play this year. Would love to see Bussey end her career with a trip to the NCAA's.

Will there be any TV coverage of the BSC women's tourney this year? I didn't see anything listed on Altitude, but at least the championship game has been televised the last few seasons....right?

Lots of props to Albert for some timely shooting. Really impressed with how well Elliot has come on with her all around game. Both her and fellow freshman Durham are becoming very important pieces to this team. Nice lineup change by Coach Binford to get all her shooters on the floor at once.
