It also doesn't hurt you in the FCS polls - but a loss to NDSU would.

What would set the tone for the season better, beating the defending champions who return 20 starters or getting a payday with an off chance of also getting a win? Beating a team that will be in the top 3 IMO, would set the stage for a good season. Georgia Southern lost by 3 last year, makes you wonder what they would have done had they not bought out earlier and that team was able to play in the atmosphere before it really counted in the playoffs. Teams that talk about going to the playoffs and playing in championships should welcome the opportunity for a tough FCS team game where they could see how they measure up the competition.
The year Georgia Southern bought out the contract was the 2011 year and when they came to Fargo in the playoffs they lost 35-7. Last year they came to Fargo again and lost by 3 in a game they could have won. There are a lot of things I could say about how I feel about this but I think I would be preaching to the choir so I will refrain.

I really don't care either way. I don't get a say in what the University does as far as scheduling. So all the Bison fans calling out MSU fans is just stupid. Say what you want on your own message board but keep your speculative opinions off our board. As fans I think most of us would of liked to see the game and a bunch of us would of made the trip. But again we don't get a say and it appears to be a done deal so if you have nothing else of relevance then quit posting please.

It is a shame that we can't play the Bison this yearin the regular season. This change in going to Texas has a lot of upside for the Bobcat Football program.
We recruite very heavy in Texas. This is a little pay back to the players that have commited to MSU from Texas. Without these players we wouldn't be where we are today as atop 5 program in the FCS.
It is nice to take these kids back home to play. It also gives us the opportunity to have new possible recruits see MSU play in Texas.

We will get a shot at NDSU in 2013 but it will be with a lot more on the line than just braging rights.

Your AD made MSU's bed, have fun sleeping in it.

Enjoy being a 'top 5' program, whatever the hell that means.

I have spoken with different individuals who work in the athletic department and they told me that the AD was not the one who pulled the trigger on this, it came from the football office.

Our AD has put us in a rather uncomfortable position. By "position" I mean the one where we, as a fanbase, bend over at the waist and grasp our ankles firmly. When season tickets are sent out this year hopefully a tub of lube will be included.

This is rediculous. NDSU fans are turning into Griz fans. You seriously come on here and start talking ****** like this. First of all, I would say almost the entire MSU community wanted this game including the coaches and players I'm sure. I'm real disappointed I don't get to go out to it. Especially now, letting some of that air out of your heads would be real sweet. Plus it looks like you do have a fairly sweet set up out there and the fans were knowledgable.

But nobody on this board has control over it. Everything is always about money. So why come on here and act like idiots, "Lakesbison"? I used to think you were alright but now just a tool. I will tell you right now, and this is all you arrogant pricks are on here wanting to hear, we are going to have an easier time beating SMU in Dallas then we would of beating you in Fargo. You're the real deal. But make no mistake, we weren't scared to play you. When you are at the stage MSU or NDSU are at, I don't care if its Alabama, we aren't scared to play you.

Now we get paid a ****** load of money, we get a chance to beat a fairly high profile FBS team in the heart of football country (Dallas), we get all those recruits seeing that, we get another FCS home game and we get to party in Dallas. Or we could travel to Fargo, have a god dam tough time beating you, not have a single recruit there, not get paid ******, and have to suffer through the misery of having been in North Dakota.

Again, all MSU fans are disappointed I think. So, get over yourselves and get off our board.

Does this move really bother you thank much?! If thery changed the game to play a D2 team, or something, I would understand why people would be upset. However, they are playing an FBS team for more money! It is one thing to be disappointed that you dont get to go to Fargo is one thing, but let's not throw out the baby with the bath water here and get some perspective.

I don't know much about NDSU fans, but the stories I've heard seem to back up the representation they have on this board. It's unfortunate, as it's just like any program, the idiots seem to gain/ask for more attention than the regular fans. Think that could go for us, Griz, whatever, but this is a little ridiculous to come on and throw crap at the fans. Who cares about the buyout, really. Move on! Just think, it gives you trolls another school's message board to give your "free" advice and thoughts on. 2 for the price of 1.

....guess my conclusion should be to stay off these threads and boards as they get hijacked by complete idiots.

****************************

I think manhood comes into play, NDSU AD gene taylor sounded like apparently AD Fields didnt make this decision, that it was the coaches? how can they look their players in the eye's and tell them how tough they are and how good they are if the COACHES pushed this decision?

NDSU would roll SMU.

Plain the Pretender - he's really not all that different than most other griz fans we hear from on here.

Not to sound "off topic" but I've spent a lot of time in Dallas - this will be a FUN game. We should be able to get a good group of MSU fans there and the "Big D" is a great place to spend a weekend. No offense to our ND friends but if anyone wants advice on how/what/where to go in Dallas, please PM me.
