I listened to Kramer's show last night on Sportsjuice and he said that the kickers attempted something like 54 field goals the other night at practice and hit on about 26! He said that tonight they are "auditioning everyone for kicking" (tongue in cheek I'm sure) but it led me to believe that he is less than pleased with the consistency of the kickers, not just that no one has shown above the others, but none has become what he could consider trustworthy.

One thing is for sure, Krames won't let any kicker even have a chance at missing 3 xtra points, like the OSU guy last Saturday night. One and done if anyone misses.

Litterbox is a tough place to kick. Maybe not this weekend, but on most weekends.

Kicking problems? I thought you guys said you got the best kicker from HS in Montana last year! Ours was 5 for 5 (2 fg's one from 47yds). Heck put him in. Lets see what he can do in a game!

Good to see Carpenter got off to a good start, but you do have to admit that Hauck was less than confident with his bear foot kickin game!

I think Carpenter was a great pick up by the Griz. It helps that they gave him a full ride. I have a very good source that said Carpenter wanted to go to MSU but they only offered a partial scholarship. If I got a full ride from one school and a partial at the other my decision would be easy and so was Carpenter's. I just wish Kramer would have placed a little more importance on the kicker position and we could have had him because he looks like he'll be an excellent kicker for the Griz.

Well lets see how our guys do first.

I don't know much about place kicking. I've tried it-it sure is a lot harder than it looks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't high school place kickers still use a tee whilst college kickers kick it right off the turf? Thus some really good high school kickers never get the hang of kicking off the ground, and other guys get it figured out. Also, MSU's stadium has real grass, and pretty tall grass at that, and also a pretty steep crown on the field, thus making it a little more difficult to kick than off an artificial surface.

We'll see how it goes. Our last attempt with a true freshman kicker didn't work out, but Nate Cook came a long and got the job done for the most part. But I'm not expecting too many 40+ yard attempts after what I saw in the first scrimmage.

Maybe Lulay can execute a drop kick?

If it comes down to MSU being faced with 4th and less than 5 on the 30 yard line.....I say go for it.

I havent had faith in a kicker since '97 for some reason. #-o

From the MSU Football commercial they've been playing on TV recently, I believe the best option is to have Lulay bank drop kicks off the press box facade and straight through the goal posts.

With all the TD's we'll be scoring this year, we just need a kicker that can kick extra point :)

For those of us outside Montana does anyone have Tivo so we can see the commercial? If someone could put the file on the internet that would be great!

I will be at the game tomorrow and will probably be sitting with Geoff Groshelle. The guy had a good career, minus one kick, and has done a bit in the AFL as well. He is confident in E.J.'s ability, and to me that speaks volumes. I just hope that E.J. has his confidence tomorrow, because that may be his best chance to get the kicking job.

we all need to be more open minded here...have confidence it the kickers

we have not even played a game yet and some have lost confidence

we have had troubles in the past, but this is a new year and we need to see what happens...

it was not that long ago a TRUE freshman by the name of lulay took the field and we all like what has happened

keep the faith

Sorry. I typically hate the kind of fans I just made myself out to be. I will be in Bozeman Saturday cheering for the Cats win or lose.

Great point. I mean after all, can it really get much worse than it has been? Plus, I have a hunch thatBolton will step up to the plate and get the job done if given the chance. That guy's a gamer, a proven winner, and comes from an awesome Bobcat family. Less than 24 hours to go my friends!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D =D^

Nice to see someone showing support for the Cat players. (gfallscat) As a relatively new Cat fan, why is the litter box so difficult to kick in as mentioned above? Seems the Cats obtain talented kickers with good credentials, then...................................????? Does K have a history of producing good kickers?

What is interesting is that we have two D-1A transfers for placekicker. One from Arizona and the other from Nebraska. I am kind of currious as to why one of them did not chose to go where the action is? 1 can only wonder.

Chronicle reports this morning that Doroski will do the placekicking today... sounds like he had a very good week of practice.
