No doubt about it...that is very impressive. I don't know what more anyone can say, that hasn't already been said. Last night was our 8th straight loss to UM. I'm afraid the MBB team may eventually surpass the football teams's losing streak from 1986-2001. UM always seems to get better as the season goes along, and we always get worse. At least we can count on the women's team to be more competitive...oh wait...never mind!!

Honestly it's time for a change in both the men's and women's programs. I am tired of the futility that they have. The basketball games used to be fun and exciting, not anymore....hockey anyone?

I still say give Huse a lifetime contract extension. Just think of all the cool stuff we'll be able to buy with the hundreds of dollars a year we no longer will need to spend on Bobcat basketball tickets...

I predict that we will finish no worse than 2nd in the Big Sky next year. This is with our current coaching staff.

Nope, just know the talent we have coming in is going to really help, plus we have some good young players that will step up even more next year. I actually feel very positive about next year.

Very confusing, as you are not from Colorado, but are exhibiting feel good tendancies. :-k

Born and raised in Bozeman, and that stuff makes me puke, so I am not "Experiencing" anything.

Well when you couple your comments with the title of the thread it gets confusing. I admire your optimism and I am hoping that the breeding program to cross breed unicorns and Pegasus is successful.

What you think everyone on the roster now will actually return next year? I'm not sure there has been a single year under Huse where somebody didn't defect between seasons.

I'm always curious how things might have fared if Huse could keep a cohesive group together for a few years, but so many guys have left the team it's unreal.

Actually he did this year. I don't believe anyone bolted the program since last season, for the first time in many years. That's precisely why this season has been even more disappointing than all the other mediocre seasons in recent years. If he was ever going to have a team that could legitimately contend for the BSC title, I thought this could be the year, for that very reason. We returned more players from last season than any year in recent memory. But I'm not sure that having a more experienced team is that much of a benefit, because it seems like most of our players never really improve very much under Huse. What we see from them as freshman, is generally not much different than what we get from them as seniors.

That's what I watched last night. It didn't even cross my mind that MSU was playing UM. Even after reading about it at lunch yesterday on BN.

And it wasn't even the Avalanche. It was Dallas. Versus Buffalo. Two teams I could care less about. But I care more about watching good hockey (and it was an exciting 3rd period) than a terrible basketball team with a terrible coach.

Then again, couldn't even watch it if I wanted to, BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO EITHER! The local TV stations basically said as much...

You reading this Fields? Cruzado? msusportsinfo? Get your act together before you have to sh!tcan the whole BB program @ MSU.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I wrestled for 13 years and know nothing about basketball. BUT, I have also coached for 4 years and have seen the production of zero talent to a competitive level in as little as 3 weeks. From these results, I will be putting my application in to be the next head basketball coach at MSU :D

All it takes is some fire and the drive to accept nothing less that perfection from your athletes. As for our basketball programs I have seen very little drive and no need for improvement as the season goes on. You may not have the best athletes or the best performers in your sport (Wichita State) but if you demand nothing but the best from your players day in and day out then you are almost guaranteed to see nothing but improvement as the season goes on

No smack intended, just was curious how the vs D1 opponents record looked over the past 8 years. bleh....

Against D1 teams (Conference record in parentheses including Big Sky Tournament games)
2013-2014: 12-17? (9-11?)
2012-2013: 11-17 (10-11)
2011-2012: 10-17 (7-10)
2010-2011: 11-18 (7-10)
2009-2010: 13-14 (10-7)
2008-2009: 13-17 (8-11)
2007-2008: 13-15 (7-10)
2006-2007: 9-19 (8-9)

Total Record against D1 opponents: 92-134 (66-79 in conference)
AVG Yearly Record vs D1 opponents: 12-17 (8-10 in conference)

0 Years with .500 or better record against D1 opponents in 8 seasons.
1 Year with a .500 or better record in conference in 8 seasons (if NAU wins on Saturday).

With attendance dropping down to a bit over 2200 people a game this year (down from 2500+ last year I think) I wonder if it'll drop below 2000 per game next year... Maybe that will get someone's attention and changes will be made?

It appears as though the powers that be at MSU are totally fine with year after year of mediocre at best on court performance and plummeting attendance. At most other D-I institutions, a coach with Huse's record would have been gone several years ago.
