One last weekend?

Post by TomCat88 » Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:21 pm

I'm thinking probably so. MSU put up a good fight at Missoula Monday, but I got a feeling they burned themselves out and might get blown out tonight. The best thing they've got going for them is they've really got nothing to lose, so maybe that'll loosen them up and, well, we'll see. [-o<

With 11:50 to play in the first half on the Heil Heating and Air Conditioning scoreboard it's MSU 16, NAU 10.

16-10 Cats. Feed on BSTV is laggy for me, anyone else having issues? Their feed is super sharp, TV production.

NAU 33, MSU 29 at the half. I wonder what NAU's record is when leading at halftime. I bet its around 75-80% or better.

Another 2nd half swoon.

18 min without a FG.

Another Missed BSC tournament.

Adios Brad and coaching staff.

Can we skip the trip to Sac and save some $$ for the athletic budget?

This is an embarrassing and humiliating to say the least. The Cat's defense is soft at best. Their offense is offensive to say the least. I just don't get how in a critical must win game, you don't put forth a better effort than this. The Bobcat stall for most of the second half was as effective as usual. Oh well, I give up on these guys. I'm done defending them to everybody I know. They have broke my heart again.

Glad to see Huse pulled out all the stops-to lead them to a blistering 48 points in a must win game.

His preferred style of play has choked the life out of basketball for the players and fans.

No way to disagree with this statement. It's frustrating because a slow-paced, patient offense can be effective at all levels of college basketball...just ask Rick Barnes at Texas this year, or almost any team in the top half of the B1G. I think the problem is Huse loves to play slow-tempo basketball, but the players he has, and has had, are better suited to getting out in transition. How do you expect to execute in the half-court when you don't have a single consistent outside shooter (maybe Holm can be, but isn't consistent yet), your best post threat gives half a damn most of the time, and your guards are small, quick, and most effective when slashing to the rim? Not easy to do, but damn if we don't keep trying. Definitely, definitely time for a change...I'd say before it's too late, but that ship might have sailed already.

So...do I have this right? As I see it, if Sac loses to Montana tonight, and PSU loses one of two this weekend, and we beat Sac on Saturday we would still go to the tournament on account of season sweeps over Sac and PSU.

Right now the griz are beating Sac, but PSU is beating Weber.

But do we really care? I guess I really don't, because we all know what will happen in the first round of the Big Sky tourney anyway.

P.S. I guess the Sac-Montana game doesn't matter because they only have 9 conference win right now. But we do have to beat them on Saturday and we need PSU to lose one more.

I need the 'Cats to make the tournament so I can get credentials so I can make freelance money covering all the other teams...

If MSU does somehow get in they will probably get to lose the the griz one more time in the 2-7 matchup...if my calculations are correct.
