WBB makes the tourney

Post by BelgradeBobcat » Thu Mar 06, 2014 10:55 pm

Final seeding is yet to be decided, but with tonights decisive win over NAU means the women's team is going to the tournament which will be Grand Forks, ND. So that's good! =D^

They had a nice win tonight. The offense was really clicking in the first half and they held on in the second half. One of NAU's players, Amanda Frost, hit 38 points. She's the league's leading scorer, but it's a little concerning to see that the Cats have given up at least 3 30 point games in conference play. However, they had a balanced scoring attack and got a very nice win. I'm not going to downplay a very good win. If they can beat a fading, yet frenetic, Sacramento State team on Saturday, it will be a nice way to end the regular season.

We know this as well: the tournament is at North Dakota. Southern Utah, Montana, Eastern Washington, Sacramento State, Idaho State, and most importantly, Montana State will be there.

A big final regular season win-81-63 over Sac State. Good way to take it into the tournament.

In one of the weirdest statistical lines you'll see, Sacramento State shot 49 3-pointers. They made about 10, but MSU did a nice job handling their funky pressures and frenetic pace. It was a smart and balanced win for the Cats. Next up is UM or Southern Utah in the Big Sky tournament. It was a great way to end the Bobcats' home season.

According to a tweet from the conference, MSU will play UM in the first round.

It looks like it could be another Cat-Griz matchup in the tournament. If Southern Utah loses at home to Northern Colorado, they could fall to the three seed and face the Cats. Southern Utah is playing for a share of the title, so I wouldn't predict a letdown. I think that's the only thing in play right now as far as the women's tournament goes. I'm interested to see how it plays out.
