Joey On TV tonight

Post by beartrainer » Mon Sep 13, 2004 4:36 pm

Just looked at the Packers site and he is listed second on the depth chart behind Harris. Hope he gets a few cracks in the gane tonight.

Gawd I hate the Packers - but it's going to be fun watching Joey get some reps...He'll get a lot of playing time when the Vikes and Pack hook up this year. The Vikes have 4 WR that can score from anywhere. Kinda reminds me of the corp that the rams had for a couple years.

Joey definitely looked like he belongs in the NFL. He was right in the thick of things on the kick returns and that solo tackle was a beauty. I hope he gets some opportunities to get on the field defensively. Harris is quite a guy to follow, but if he keeps learning in practice, I have to believe Joey can do the Packers proud.

Oh, I SO hoped that he would get a shout out with that tackle! Lots more time to hear his name called though...

He also almost recovered the fumble on the next kick off after the solo tackle. Wish he could have covered that.

Anybody else see the other rookie corner, Ahmad Carrol, blow his assignment on Carolina's second touchdown pass. Gotta be tough to make that transition from college to the pro's and not only have to learn an entirely new system, but a much more complex one against much better competition. I hope Joey keeps learning and working, he definately seems to fit in there.

I saw Carrol blow that assignment on the touch down. It looks like he's their nickel back. Hopefully Joey will get more playing time after a good stint on the kickoff team, but you wonder how he breaks in with harris Hawthorne and Carrol there. Maye he's get traded to someone like the Cowboys!

Yeah, I am pretty sure that Carrol is the nickel back from what I saw last night. I does seem like Joey has alot of people ahead of him, but he is listed as the #2 at right corner. I would think he would be in if anything happened to Harris--note that I am not wishing injury to a player, just saying that in reality Joey is only one bad break for Harris away from playing. If he keeps working and playing hard, he will get his shot.

Yes, and I think the Packers are looking pretty decent and should have a few games that are out of reach in the 4th, should see him then...

Mike McKenzie is ending his holdout with the Packers :(. Unfortunately this probably means that Joey is buried even further down on the Packers depth chart.
