Here is what I posted in another thread about Neumann. This is a another great pick up for Fish and his talents complimants Halls. The one thing that both Commits have in common is that they are great pure shooters from well beyond three point range who can create their own shots without having to rely on teammates to provide screens. It would be easy to see these two on the court at the same time for the Bobcats.
Sam Neumann
The Bobcats will have the 6-6 SF/SG Sam Neumann from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul Minnesota in for an official visit Septemeber 25th. Fish had an in home get together with he and his family this week. The Bobcats have been recruiting Neumann for most of the summer and I beleive he is high on their list. He has been playing shooting guard most of his carrer but a late growing spurt has him being projected as a small forward prospect in college. I have heard that he could top out at 6-8. Like Hall he is a deep shooter but also has an inside game and is a good passer in traffic. Neumann had some huge scoring games last year scoring in the 30's quite a few times. He holds offers from Montana State, Bryant, Notheastern, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Toledo and Wyoming. I do not know of any other official visits scheduled this fall for Neumann, but Wyoming was also in for an in home this week.

Video: (note the dates in the Feb 11 2013 he does not look to be any bigger than 6-3ish)

The third recruit who Fish had in last week is 6-2 Point guard Mandrell Worthy. Worthy was at the alumni game last week and sat with AD Fields most of the game with his parents. He made an official visit to Idaho this past weekend. Worthy has cut his list to Montana State and Idaho. I would expect him to make his decision between shortly. St Mary's was also very interested in him but dropped him when the got a commit from 6-2 point guard Stephan Gonzalez (the Griz prime recruit this fall) earlier this week. I have heard the Griz tried to jump back on Mandrell late this week but it sounds like for Worthy that ship has sailed.

The thing that surprises me is that Fish really does not seem to have any top line big men on his list for his three scholarships this fall. Still though these 2 or 3 guys could help us forget about missing out on Gus Nehme when Huse left.

Incredible range. Lots of shots beyond the NBA line.

The thing that always determines when these young guys see the floor in college is their ability to defend.

Looks like a good get.

Those links wouldn't work for me so I will just have to take your word on it. this all sounds good I know that over the last 5 years we haven't had a commitment that anyone got overly excited about. These players seem like they are good gets.

New commit

Just realized that. I shouldn't be internetting while watching the cowboys game. Unless Fish is such a recruiting genius that he is landing guys with rodeo money.

Enter: my annual "excited for Bobcat basketball until the end of January" mood.

Love what Fish is doing so far. =D^

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Remember everyone this is going to be a tough transition year for the Bobcats. I think we have an above average back court ( point guard, shooting guards and small forward) with a nice mix of returnees and promising new comers, but our front court (power forward and center) is VERY untested with only one player who made significant contributions last year. I am also figuring Fish is going to need some time to get his feet wet and figure out both who he is as a head coach and the Big Sky level of play. You saw this with Wayne Tinkle and brad Huse their first year at UM and MSU. Brad actually came out of the shoot a little stronger than Tinkle with his experience as a head coach and it took Tinkle a little time to develop his basketball philosophy. In the end though after a few years Tinkle got it together got his players in the system and Um took off.

For 2014-15 what I want to see is a program a coaching style where players are playing to their strengths. I want to see a positive attitude on the court. I want to see players and coaches working towards something. What I don't want to see is stupid fouls, poor foul shooting and drastic swings game to game in shooting percentages all of these in my opinions are signs of poorly prepared teams. What I hope to see, but maybe it will take another year is flashes from players and the team of what may becoming down the line. Oh yea can we break this 25 year Bobcat second half slide tradition.

What I will demand to see from the fans/boosters is that respect be shown for all of our returning players. These guys have been given a tough task in some ways being transition players as the program moves forward. It was the fans/boosters who demanded the change in the program and these guys will be paying the toughest price. These players are great young men and they are Bobcats. Some may fit better into Fish's system than Huse's while other may have been more suited to Huse's. It may have less to do with talent than circumstances. We asked for this we got this, but lets make sure we support our Bobcats Players.

Mandrell Worthy and one of his teammates will be announcing their college choice tomorrow (9-30-14) at 3:00 pm at their high school. Should be interesting.

BTW his teammate 6-8 PF Matisse Thybulle will commit to U of Washington

I agree. I look at our lineup and unless our incoming guys are really, really good and/or Fish is a miracle worker I see a pretty tough season ahead. I've convinced myself to just enjoy the process and not expect too much too early.

The good news for Fish is that Huse ran the fan excitement so far into the ground that he will have at least 3 years to win a few games before anyone even thinks about making a stink.

I'm optimistic for the future with Fish, but not really for next year. But that isn't anything out of the normal for me with Bobcat basketball.

I'm not sure I ever saw a player here in Bozeman who fit into Huse's system.
