Qualified Terminable Interest Property as defined in the Internal Revenue Code, but that's just me :)

I don’t think anyone on Bobcat Nation would qualify as a yuppie. The reason that I say that is because I doubt a yuppie would pay any attention to Bobcat Athletics. That would cut into their skiing, hiking, lab fetching, coffee drinking, SUV driving and North Face buying time.

What if I am petting my dog, drinking coffee, bundled up in my North Face with two browsers open. One open to this site and one open to landrover.com?

Just kidding, I am at work, so my dog isn't here!

didn't your wife confess to this offense earlier in the thread? :D

either way, think it's fine yuppie, cowboy, muffy, whatever you want to label yourself, we all love the Cats.

(still partial to cowboys myself  )

Sure is cold walking around Bozeman today with no jacket on, but I'll take the cold anyday over wearing my warm, comfortable North Face jacket and having people think that I'm a yuppie...

This thread is really lame :kicksrock:

Indeed, but at least we can all read it and laugh. It is a good way to keep connected between Football and when our Basketball team gets going.

You don't say? :) One visit to Bend and Bozeman looks like a bunch of rednecks for sure. Driving around a Chevy truck makes me look poor in this town! If you don't have an H2, Porsche Cayenne, or a Land Rover you aren't squat. I would have to say this is Yuppieville USA, but it is a pretty sweet place to live so I will deal with it. However I think Mountain Hardware has replaced North Face as the jacket of choice.

Bend has always been really nice. As for us, we're in Yelm, WA, and for the snow we do have, I get extra traction the cheap way around here. I just load my 215 pound Mastiff up in the minivan and we're off to my sons school in a 4WD van :D

Had to give up the Jeep, no room for my dog

Mountain Hardware is now the shiek jacket because it is not as popular as North Face... but now they have endorsements from the mountaineering community, soooooo now it's the sheik jacket that will become THE jacket, until another pretender jacket arises. :D

All I know is that my old skool patagonia shell took me to the top of the South Sister and back... now I have to go out and buy a Mountain Hardware to fit in to yuppieville styles.

(Depressed--- so I plug in my ipod and listen to "Don't worry be Happy) 8)

What a great hike isn't it? Bend now has an REI that opened two weeks ago so we will see another influx of "outdoor gear" around town.

Very nice, I came up on the southwest side of the Sister and summitted and headed out by the normal trail. Good hike, I was a little dehydrated, but well worth it. Could have used another "Nalgene", some more granola from that bohemian cafe down by the lake in town : ).

Now with REI, you are your own Universe. Bend Universe for yuppies and bohemians

Why not just ride the Mastiff?
he already has a job. his name is 'dozer' short for bulldozer, he plows us out when the snow gets too high :D

he can pull a sleigh if needed I'm sure. Oh, and of course can be stand in for hubby (protection ONLY) when he's deployed, at 215 pounds nobody would ever break into my home :D

NO I suppose they wouldn't. But if they did, there would be no evidence what had happened to them I suspect either.

Quite different from my Blue Heelers, who could make life difficult for anyone getting into the place, but, would only really leave welts. The Mastiff would take a bite and swallow. :)

That raises a question about yuppies. I don't suspect that Mastiff's are yuppie dogs. As per this thread, we have discovered that Bend Oregon really is yuppie ville.

Mountain Hardware is the "in" jacket now. Nalgene is a bottle brand, NOT a bottle, but yuppies all drink Nalgene. SUV's are manditory, the more exotic the better, and the currency of choice is plastic...

BUT: what kind of dog does a yuppie let into their life? poodle? , chiuahua sp.? husky? 8)

LABS!!!!!!

NO I am proud my Mastiff's aren't "yuppie" dogs. Work with English, Bulls and Cane Corso's (italian - certainly no "yuppie" dog http://www.canecorsovero.com/ ) all my dogs would eat yuppies for lunch  Amazingly all 3 breeds are extremely gentle with children, but will eat your intruders :D

However, when I was young (ah hem  ) yuppies drove Volvo's, had matching labs, looked like living Gap ads or abercrombie ads, and still flashed plastic (american express) cards. They were environmentally Friendly and since Starbuck's wasn't the "in" thing they did the wine scene (sorry Brad  )

Puggle

Labs aren't really for yuppies, they are more Wrangler jeans and Busch beer kind of dog than Ambercrombie and Chardonnay kind of dog.

Puggle- I don't even know what that is. I must not be yuppie. My thoughts on dogs are german shorthairs, or any pointer.
