what's your least favorite Christmas song?

Post by BelgradeBobcat » Mon Dec 19, 2005 5:02 pm

The radio is filled with high profile stars singing their versions of traditional Christmas songs. Most of these versions send me reaching for the radio dial. It's the same reaction I get when such and such recording artist is enlisted to sing the national athem. Just sing the dang song the way it was written and spare us showing off your "beautiful" voice.

The most often butchered song in my opinion is the Christmas song "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire". I can't stand that song! Bah humbug!

I thought that song was kind of funny...the first 1000 times I heard it. It started to get a little old about 15 years ago.

I have to say Taco Johns has kind of ruined Feliz Navidad for me.

I'm not too big on Christmas songs, a lot are corny. My wife has a Celine Dion Christmas and almost all of the songs make me ill. Could be the songs, could be Celine, ugh...

Too many bad ones.

Favorite is that one about Snoopy and the Red Baron, from like the 60s. :D

I remember Saturday Night Live's Norm MacDonald commenting on a Kenny G Christmas album, "Happy Birthday Jesus, hope you like crap."

I heard that one on the radio recently. It's a good one and shows that even in a war people can come together for one day. These "Christmas truces" actually happened between the British and the Germans in World War I. There's a little bit of historical information.

Some of the carols sung by recent pop stars are also really bad.
