think this will be interesting debate, as MANY if not all of us have a "illegal" member of the family living in the states. I know this only pertains to children born of illegals, I am sure it will expand to the parents rights as well.

I know personally although she was deemed "legal" to be in the states, went to college here, worked here, married here, both my nieces were born here prior to my sister-in-law recieving her citizenship. So it would be interesting to see if they would have still had their rights protected even if she had never recieved her citizenship.

I think that the one rule for citizenship that is constant throughout the world is if a baby is born in a country, he/she is a citizen of that country. That's also one of the U.S. customs traditions. I don't think it should be changed except for in extreme cases such as terrorists.
