Kellen Alley

Post by Showtime84 » Tue Oct 05, 2004 2:05 pm

I have been a bobcat fan for awhile now, and Not a big fan of The offensive output in recent years. This year so far i havent been impressed either. We have weapons thats for sure, and I dont know if we dont utilize them well or what? In the NFL big recievers are in, as they are in Div1A and Div1AA but not for the cats apparently. Kellen Alley is 6'2 199lbs listed but he looks a hell of alot bigger than that out there. I read the past post talking about he is slow.. well the kid runs a 4.56 40 and has a 35 inch vertical, just throw it up to him? Why hasnt he gotten a shot, i read about him in the box score of every scrimmage since he has been here and he always puts up nice stats. Anybody else like what they see? does he not play well in practice? is he injured? does anybody know? since roosevelt is out do you think we will see him? I just hope that he doesnt leave the program before we can see what he can do.... let me know people, I want to see him on the field.. he cant do any worse.

Well, here's what little I could glean from the MSU website. This link has the current depth chart and comments on each player. He is a #2 receiver on the depth, so I assume he should get some plays this week.

I agree with "showtime84". I have seen this kid in the spring game last year and he is really good. I have seen his name on the charts, but not on the field. He may see more action, unfortunately it comes due to Roosevelts injury, (that damn turf!!!!). Hopefully, he will show that his time on the pine is not warranted. I think that all of our receivers are VERY talented and hopefully, they will show up every weekend from here on out. If they do, Lulay should have over 400 yds passing.

I couldn't agree more. I especially thought that over the first few games. I thought similar things about EJ and our kicking game. He got his chance by injury. Worked out but not the way I would have liked.

I met Kellen when he was a freshman and he is respectful, determined and very smart academically. I'm definitely on the bandwagon to get him in a game!!!! He was playing with the first team (not that that means anything) during the 10 minutes I watched practice last night and he had several great catches. I also watched him when they DIDN'T throw the ball to him and he seems to be fully engaged in the game around him. I really don't understand either...

GO KELLEN!!!!
