10/11 Polls
I wish they wouldn't do this to us but I see we are ranked again in the AGS poll (#25) and nearly in the SN poll (#27). Every time we become or start out ranked we take a dump. I hope this is the week we buck that trend. Kramer and Co. have exercised two similar demons the past two weeks - winning in a dome at ISU, and winning a homecoming game so there is hope.

Re: 10/11 Polls
Yeah .. hate to say it again, but this is a BIG game this weekend. We win this one we go to 4-2 and should start to work our way up into the top 25. We need to head into NAU with a 5-2 (3-0) mark and then get our 2nd dome win of the season! Our offense is bound to take off (NO HUDDLE WHOLE GAMEWYCAT wrote:I wish they wouldn't do this to us but I see we are ranked again in the AGS poll (#25) and nearly in the SN poll (#27). At this point in our season, I feel that they are ALL big games from here on out, with the possible exception of South Dakota state. The quality of MSU's wins have not been sufficient enough that I think we can count on an at large bid with three losses. As jagur said in a thread on the college sports board, at least for the Cats, we could be back to win the Sky or stay home.
About the only way I could see us not taking the Conference and still getting in at this point is if EWU runs the table and wins the Conference and that is our only loss for the rest of the season. We could have a good case for an at large then, but anything other than that or winning the Sky could keep us home. That being said, I like our chances of winning the Sky. We have EWU here, and the rest of the league really is down this year. The Cats seem to be getting better each week(even if the scoreboard doesn't show it), good things could happen.

I think the Cats have a good chance to get in with three losses (but I wouldn't count on it with 4). Cal-Poly looks like a playoff team, and no one is going to hold the loss to CSU against the Bobs. The SDSU/DII opponents aren't going to do anything for strength of schedule, but the Sky usually sends at least 2.
Actually, I think the Bobs have the best chance if Montana runs the table (and wins this Saturday). The NCAA wants Montana in, since Montana bids twice as much as other schools for the first round playoff game. Considering that, it is best for MSU if Montana takes the automatic bid (assuming the Cats don't get it). EWU would then have one conference loss, and wouldn't have the tiebreaker over Montana. MSU has home field over EWU, pulls off the win in Flagstaff, and goes into the Montana game 8-2, which would assure MSU a playoff bid (and probably a home game) regardless of the outcome in Missoula.
If EWU beats Montana, then EWU shouldn't have a hard time running the table on the conference. But, Montana shouldn't have a difficult time against PSU, or NAU, or the like. That means the Bobs are going to need to win in Missoula to take 2nd in the conference. Smack talk aside, a home win over EWU to knock them to number 3 is a lot easier than winning in Washington Grizzly stadium to finish ahead of the Griz.

Agreed that the Griz running the table and the Cats finishing second to them could be a good chance for the Cats to get in with 3 losses, however--and as you said all smack aside--I see this as a less likely option. I just really don't see the Griz running the table on the conference this year. And again in all honesty, at least with how teams are playing right now, I feel the home game against EWU will be a tougher test than playing the Griz in their place.

I think to get in, we HAVE to beat EWU. Unless we can somehow go down to NAU and get a win there. Heck though, we have won in a dome already this year, won homecoming .. we are on a roll!
1 game at a time though. We have Portland State left who will come to play. I think 2 from the Big Sky will for sure get in this year, so the bottom line is we need to win as many as we can and stay undefeated!
1 game at a time!

SDSU is in the Great West I-AA football conference. All of the games are important. The way I see it, we need to run the table. We ARE capable of beating everyone. The only team that should give us fits is EWU, and we get them at Bozeman!
My uncle is a dyed in the wool griz fan, and he gets ill watching them play this year. Their defense is so bad. They react horribly slow to thrown passes, they make terrible reads, and as a whole, cannot defend the pass.
EWU is going to HANDLE the griz with ease. EWU has had the grizzlies number for many years. This year, it won't matter where they play, Missoula, Chenney, or Spokane. EWU will crush the griz.
We need to win every game and then there will be no doubt as to who will win the BSC. We win out and the griz should be at home watching this year for the first time in a long time!!

Yes they do have a good shot at beating them. They have been playing very well lately no doubt about it. MSU is definately gonna have to show up and play some smash mouth ball that game I think.jack100 wrote:I hope your coaches and team are as overconfident about SDSU as the members of this board. Wow, no offense 89 as I know SDSU has had some good wins this year and is doing very well, but there are some really questionable points to that poll. GSU and Delaware ahead of Southern Illinois?!?! Why and how do you do that at this point?89rabbit wrote:speaking of polls and SDSU . . . look who is at #25 on this one.![]()

I want to get this straight. You think the Cats will handle the Griz with relative ease?? I'll admit, the Griz haven't looked spectacular but they are 5-1, 2-0 against some quality teams. The Cats are mirroring the Griz, winning, but not looking good doing it. I might have to save this post for later reference.94VegasCat wrote:The only team that should give us fits is EWU, and we get them at Bozeman!....
I really hate dim-witted quotes like this. Tell me how you figure EWU has the Grizzlies number??? Is it the fact that the Griz have won 5 of the last 6 matchups? Or is it the overall record which has the Griz ahead 20-9-1?94VegasCat wrote:EWU is going to HANDLE the griz with ease. EWU has had the grizzlies number for many years. Maybe it was the score of last years game? I'll remind you, 41-10, Griz. Talking about this years game may be a different scenario or it may not, but don't try and feed everyone full of BS just because you wish it were true. If Eastern doesn't crush the Griz, I'll make sure to remind you of your base-less prediction. When's the last time ANY team handled the Griz with ease? Your hatred is shining through.

No, I think he was talking about when Kramer was there? Oh wait, Kramer is at MSU now and owning them too nowCat-theotherwhitemeat wrote:I want to get this straight. I don't think the Cats should be ranked right now. But they are 2-0 in conference, thats all I care about right now. Win 1 game at a time and it will all shake out in the endjagur1 wrote:Wildrat at least the Griz fans don't start ****** bricks everytime they move into the top 25. Cat fan.
