I would never make that bet because, as everyone knows, the selection committee is driven solely by money and would put the griz in over any other team in the country in a head-to-head decision. If the griz end up 8-3 with losses to Sam Houston, Eastern, and MSU, I would put odds at 50/50 they get in. 7-4 and even they won't get in. I think that it may come down to who wins Cat-griz this year, barring an unforeseen upset that puts one team or another out of it. I still like the griz' chances for the playoffs this year, because they had a half-assed preseason schedule that put them at 5-1 and made them look better than they are. In addition, they get NAU and MSU at home. The griz can afford 2 more losses (probably), while the Cats can reasonably only suffer one more loss if they want an at-large bid. The Big Sky may still end up in a tie at 5-2, though. If that is the case, you just gotta like our chances in that scenario!

Sorry guys, there are no lines on I-AA games. Not even when a I-A plays a I-AA.
I would be willing to get in on some action concerning the CATS sitting at home watching when the griz are playing in the post season.
The only way anybody gets 48 on the CATS is if Lulay and the rest of the offense get hurt and the third string has throws up a ton of turnovers. You can't put that many points on the CAT defense. Sorry

I don't think the score of that game itself was a fluke, NAU lost that game in every aspect of play. I do consider it a fluke in that if the game was played 100 times, that game would not happen again. I think NAU had a much better team than UM, and I think it was proven true by the results of the playoffs. NAU has much of the same headcase MSU's teams had during the streak, brought on by a long losing streak and a coach who desperately desires to beat his old school but can't. NAU made mistakes in that game that they didn't make the rest of the entire season, not to mention the minor fact that Roger Robinson didn't play in that game. I stick by my post, although it is just my opinion and obviously can't be proven.
Regardless, it still has absolutely ZERO to do with this year's game against Eastern Washington.

Nobody gets in with 4 loses, unless they get an auto bid for winning their conferencce.BozoneCat wrote:I would never make that bet because, as everyone knows, the selection committee is driven solely by money and would put the griz in over any other team in the country in a head-to-head decision. I agree with ECfriz, 4 losses won't make it, unless you win the conference. Thus, the Cats can only lose 1 conference game (unless they win a tie breaker again) and the friz can maybe lose 2 and get in. I don't think the friz would get a home game with 3 losses, as the NCAA seems to be more tuned into fairness than before. The Cats might have to go undefeated to get a home game. At any rate, the Cats have to beat PSU and start scoring more than 2 touchdowns per game, or they might finish 4th or 5th in the conference. Go Eagles!

I don't know Velochat, the friz do get home games given to them by the committee when they don't deserve them and I haven't seen that trend end yet. Fortunately, that wasn't even quite enough last year to get them any further than us into the playoffs.I don't think the friz would get a home game with 3 losses, as the NCAA seems to be more tuned into fairness than before.

Admittedly, the Griz have 7 home games, which is a bit excessive. But, that is a schedule with no DII games and no bodybag games. Right now, the Griz have 3 wins against non-conference DI competition, Bobs have zero, EWU has zero.

That's one of the main reasons I hate playing in the BSC. Every other team in the league is gunning for us, year in, year out. A team can't get no relief.BozoneCat wrote:Years of frustration and payback will be taken out by any team in the Big Sky that has the talent to do so, and I think Eastern does.

Yeah, thats why the Cats games are always so close. Everyone is gunning for the 2 time defending Big Sky Champs when they play us. Its time we step up this week and put some points up on the board. Our recievers/RB's are starting to make plays, just need to cut out the TO's and penalties and we will be marching down the field.

How is having 7 home games excessive? Tell me one team in IAA that wouldn’t love to play 7 home games. We had a very good OOC schedule.Admittedly, the Griz have 7 home games, which is a bit excessive. But, that is a schedule with no DII games and no bodybag games. We are also very fortunate to have a great fan base. We make just as much money from a home game as you make from a body bag game.

I just love how everyone calls them body bag games. We only got 1 player dinged up at the CSU game and he played the next week. We've won 2 games since. Playing tougher competition (and away from home) makes your team even tougher physically AND mentally.Eastcoastgriz wrote:How is having 7 home games excessive? So how much money do you guys waste EOGriz. If you make just as much money from a home game that means you guys blew through over 7 million dollars last year??? You griz are great at adding up the gate but you also need to look in the other column at your expenses. Trust me that is not an inexpensive happening. I have to laugh when one of you griz think that you are making as much money. Trust me if you make 50% to 60% PROFIT (look up that definition if you don't understand it), that would be a remarkable. Most college football games yield in the 35% range for profit, but in the frizzes defense they have a little more going for them. The highest I have ever auditted was 54% at Michigan, and that was for a game not for a season. Those expectations might be what lead you guys to the 1mill. ooops>>>.Eastcoastgriz wrote:How is having 7 home games excessive? Tell me one team in IAA that wouldn’t love to play 7 home games. Are you telling me you would rather the team go out on the road for a sure loss than play a quality 1AA game at home?
