I missed this but that's great news. I'd argue that women's cross country (and the distance races in track) is the only sport where Montana produces truly elite talent. The Aragons, the Morleys, Annie Hill, Tiahna Vladic, Camila Noe, Zoe Nelson a few years back...these are some great ones and the Bobcats are lucky to have Noe. This won't be the only transfer in the next year either... :-^

Wow-both teams exceeded expectations. That's pretty great. Congrats to all of them!

Haven't seen it posted yet, but Ben Perrin (Flathead High School) committed to MSU a couple days ago. His oldest brother Zach was an All-American at Colorado, and the middle brother Jake is at Gonzaga. This is a good pick-up for MSU, and I think we'll see the XC programs get to a level of national prominence we haven't seen in the past. Camilla Noe is another big get for the ladies. I've said it for years that XC is the one sport Montana produces elite talent in regularly. NAU is already a national title contender in XC and I think MSU is close to breaking through to that level. Runners like the challenge of training in Flagstaff at 7,000 feet, and Bozeman is also attractive for the same reason. I'm a HS track coach and have noticed a nice trajectory for MSU track/XC the last couple years, and I think it has only improved with Lyle Weese coming in. Coach Kennedy still has his fingerprints all over the program and remains close, so you don't lose much there. Great time to be a Bobcat!

I love Track and XC and am jazzed to with the program. Don't know anything about Perrin but will be searching out his history... And yes, Montana has some great young runners. Just checked and he clipped off a 15.43:60 5k... NOT to shabby.

In the NCAA indoors the runner from NAU won the mile if I am not mistaken. Only watched it, could not hear it as we were in the Coeur d'alene Texas Roadhouse having dinner last Sunday... Thought that was a pretty amazing result for NAU.

I think the NAU Men won the XC national championship last year or the year before. The BSC is legit competition. MSU's facilities are good, the town is good, I don't see why we shouldn't expect great things.
