Wedding in Bozeman
Okay, this will set the high-water mark for me personally in terms of fru fru posts, but this seems like a good venue to pose the question.
If somebody was going to plan a nice outdoor wedding in the Bozeman area, what places have you seen that would fit the bill? Something that is not incredibly expensive would be great. Also, what are some good reception sites (preferable close to or in downtown)?
Thanks in advance.

There's a new place out by Cottonwood Golf Course. I can't remember the name of it. Let me check. Also, for planning your wedding from afar, you can't beat www.montanabridal.com My friend runs the site and does a great job, plus she's a first class party and wedding planner.

The only Bozeman wedding I have attended was at Gallatin Gateway Inn, (both the ceremony and the reception), and it was very nice.
But, that doesn't really fit any of the criteria that you suggested, since it is neither outdoors nor near downtown.
Congratulations though, and good luck!

I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

Re: Wedding in Bozeman
I actually just went through this two weekends ago. We are doing an outdoor ceremony and reception in the same place. Our top places were Springhill Pavillion, Rockin' TJ Ranch (http://www.rockingtjranch.com), The Woodlands (www.montanawoodlands.com), Chico Hot Springs and Gallatin River Hideaway (www.gallatinriverhideaway.com).Bay Area Cat wrote:Okay, this will set the high-water mark for me personally in terms of fru fru posts, but this seems like a good venue to pose the question.

We ended up going with the Rockin' TJ Ranch (Woodlands was 2nd place) just because we felt that it had the most "bang for your buck", but all they all seemed to be fantastic (we didn't get a call back from the gallatin river hideway, so I don't know much about them).
If you want more specific info (prices/location...etc PM me).

Lazy B is pretty cool, but it was a little TOO rustic for us. They did a good job of cleaning it up, but it was still a little too "barny" for us. The owner is REALLY nice.RyeCat wrote:http://www.lazybguesthouse.com/weddings.html

rye cat - wow that lazy B is nice!
i'm a bad advice girl Brad, we married CHEAP in a post Chapel at Fort Meade in Maryland, our reception was at the officer's club. Something tells me Dee will want things a little nicer than our TINY budget allowed us.
Besides, getting married out of Montana, especially Bozeman meant i did not have to attempt to feed half the state population
My cousin married at the family ranch and did it like a western trail ride.
LOTS of BBQ Beef and all the fixins'. yet again, I've met Dee and this will be vetoed! I like Dee, let her be as girly as a woman can get. Stand back, take in a deep breath and just repeat the phrase "Yes Dear" over and over again, and it will be perfect no matter where you have it.

Congratulations.
The only weddings I've been too in Bozeman have been church weddings with the receptions at the upstairs room where the Bachus Pub used to be. It's a nice central location and they are (were at least) pretty nice.
