Any guesses at UM's seeding?
I am thinking that with a 20+win season, a respectable ranking most of the year in the mid-major poll, and this being their 2nd consecutive year to the Dance, they have a good shot at a 13 seed. Maybe that's a little high, but I don't seed them at a 16 or even a 15. Any thoughts?

I would guess they will be a 15 seed. They will probably end up playing Gonzaga in the first round. The way Gonzaga has been playing Montana might actually pull it out against them. I am not saying I would like that, but as much as I dislike Montana, I dislike Gonzaga even more, if that is possible.

My guess is 14, but it's so hard to make a call with so many games left before Sunday. Could be a 13, but that's about as good as it gets for the BSC (and I don't think that's happened more than once or twice). Could also be a 15, depending on the final field and the committee. I don't see them as a 16 at all.
Somewhere in there is the fact that it's their second consecutive appearance under Kristo.

ESPN's bracketology has them as a 14 seed playing UCLA right now. I think 14 is where they'll end up but if they slip to 15, they'll probably get the Zags which would make me about the biggest Griz fan ever for about 2 hours.

I think that the Griz are about a 14. They could move up to a 13 depending on what happens with other teams in their conference tournaments. The idea on e-Griz seems to be 3 Gonzaga vs. 14 Montana. That would be a fun matchup.

Sports Ill has Montana at #13 playing Tenn, but then again, that's just another guess... USA, ESPN, SI, etc. all know zilch. They can only speculate like the all of us. We'll see when the NCAA drops the brackets down later today.Hell's Bells wrote:i dont know unless MT does some damage in the tournament this year i only see justification for a 15 seed at the highest considering the big skys history in the big dance since weber last made it
I say the Griz are at 14 myself.

It hasn't been that long, Weber was a #12 seed 3 years ago when they played Wisconsin in the tournament.MSU01 wrote:Wow, a 12 has to be the highest seed the Big Sky has had in a looong time. My mistake...for some reason I thought the undefeated Weber team was a 13, not a 12. Still very impressive for UM to get a 12...how things changed in the Big Sky from last year to this year.twentythreeOh4 wrote:

Weber had a 27-4 record that year and didn't lose a game in the 'Sky, if I recall properly.twentythreeOh4 wrote:It hasn't been that long, Weber was a #12 seed 3 years ago when they played Wisconsin in the tournament.MSU01 wrote:Wow, a 12 has to be the highest seed the Big Sky has had in a looong time. Suppose it's tough to compare this year's Griz team to that Weber state team in terms of deserving high seeds. Montana probably got a bump from having been in the tourney last year, plus the familiarity of Coach K. The media loves that guy!
