Looks like the Bin Laden/Iraq connection is true.

From ABC even, I thought Fox News were the only ones that made up stories like this.

although i do have a question for everybody:

Much more than CBS or CNN

If you read the article I think they present the information in a great manner. They use to documents to point out potential links, but they also address how each document cannot stand up on its own without other supporting documents.

I believe that there were probably some very loose ties between Iraq and BL and these documents make it clear that if there are ties, they are very loose.

This stuff is very interesting, but based on the evidence as presented, I would really doubt than anyone would suggest that it rises to the level that would justify anything more on a diplomatic level than an inquiry (certainly falling short of a war).

It's also worth noting that many of our allies in the Middle East, not to mention us ourselves, have far more proven direct links to supporting bin laden at various points in time than even suggested of Iraq by this article.

If we can't find something more substantive than hand written notes that suggest vague connections, it really doesn't help our claims that 9-11 and Saddam were related in any way that would justify our invasion. And given the amount of time we have had to produce such evidence, I find it highly unlikely that it exists.

:goodpost: I agree that this loose connection in no way justifies going to war with Iraq because of 9/11. I just don't think the investigation is made up news.

My favorite one is the one about how Iraq contributed to election campaigns in France. The government-owned French oil company, Total, was the biggest loser in Iraqi Freedom. Could this war be the first war that was fought between oil companies by using state forces?

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.
