#2 Coach K stays at UM/ Tinkle Assists/ Huse Assists
To be honest with you a week ago I figured this could not be the case- today however, I think there is a 75% chance that nothing changes in Grizzly Basketball

Let me first say, I think Huse should be your choice. In fact I was hoping he would wait one year, because I think he is the right choice for UM Basketball- Not Tinkle. I just think Fields is trying to find a reason to pick someone else, he has been dragging his feet. This should not have been a hard decision. Not only would picking Huse hurt the Grizzlies, he would help MSU in recruiting and give them some new life. HE IS A GREAT CHOICE. Im not saying that as a UM fan, but as someone that knows his caractor. He will be a better ambasitor then Krammer and a better coach.whitetrashgriz wrote:how come scats? for some reason i still feel like huse will be our guy. i really hope so. what happened to make you change your mind so much?Go Scats Go wrote:#1Kitties pick someone other then Huse

Just keep getting that feeling. Its too quiet. It would seem that if he was getting/going to take the job, there would be a little more info being curculated. Almost every time I've heard of a coach being hired, there is always that short period of time, right after the interview, that its obvious that the school wants him and the coach wants the school. I get the feeling that Huse is really, really strugling with this...El_Gato wrote:I'm pretty certain that Huse will be offered the job.
Scats, are you saying that he might/would turn it down?

2000th post wasted on this, tsk tsk.El_Gato wrote:But you didn't answer the question: If he's offered our job, will he turn it down at this point?
What about the Pride factor? Do you think that might have any impact? I mean at this point, assuming he's successful, he'll get more credit for it at MSU than he would, at least for the first couple years if he took over for Larry following next season (or later). If he wins following Larry, it will take at least 3 seasons before griz fans start saying it's because of Huse's efforts and not just because he inherited a good situation...
PS I'm amazed that I'm here on the smack board, actually talking about a serious issue with SCATS! Keep it up, buddy!
I know him fairly well and UM IS his dream job. If he takes the job at MSU- He will NEVER be the coach in Missoula. Im not Smacking MSU, and as stated eirlier, I might be wrong, But I think Huse will be a Griz Assistant coach Next fall.El_Gato wrote:But you didn't answer the question: If he's offered our job, will he turn it down at this point?

I also have connections to the Huse family, my younger brother and Sister know the Huse family well (as a matter of fact I think my sister went on a couple dates with one of the boy's) If offered he will take it. He wants to be a D-1 coach and now. Yes, if he was offered the UM head coach job right now he would turn us down, but right now he is 2nd in line even though he is far more qualified than the 1st in line. Plus remember his wife is from the Bozeman area.Go Scats Go wrote:I know him fairly well and UM IS his dream job. If he takes the job at MSU- He will NEVER be the coach in Missoula. Interviews and forums went thru last Wed. Fields flew out on Thurs. for Indianapolis and probably won't be back in Bozeman until tomorrow at the earliest. Obviously the announcement will be made in Bozeman, and Fields will have the new coach present at the press conference (a statement he made last week).longhorn_22 wrote:I read that Fields left for the Final Four so I'm guessing an announcement won't be made until Wednesday or so.El_Gato wrote:mslacat,
Any info on why it's taking Fields so long to settle this?
Not intended to be smack, but your gut feeling is SOOOOO WRONGGo Scats Go wrote: I just have this gut feeling that when all is said and done the Grizzly coaching staff will be the same. It just seems that all Ive read is these guys are gone- yet they havent left- Yet. IF the Griz do as well next year, Krysko & Tinkle will be moving on. It would sure be nice to have Huse sitting on the bench- WAITING!!! And I bet this has been mentioned to Brad many times this week at UM.
