Bobcats win by 21 in Ogden. Have we ever won by that much down there? This feels historic.

Re: Cat men at Weber
This is why we wanted Sprinkle, shouldn't be surprised that he is getting results.
Just emphasizes that he is absolutely the right coach.
Talent wins games in December and January. Talent plus coaching wins in February and March.

Cats win by 21 in Ogden in February. Idaho State beats the Griz by 23 for their first win against UM since 2009. MSU's men's and women's basketball teams are on a combined 15-game win streak since New Year's Day. What is this sorcery and how can we make it continue?

Has MSU every beaten WSU by 21 points, period? Seriously, I don't recall it as long as I've been following (early 90's)BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:51 pmBobcats win by 21 in Ogden. Have we ever won by that much down there? This feels historic.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: Cat men at Weber
So we beat 1st place Weber by 21, while UM lost to last place ISU by 23. SUU was trailing EWU, but now SUU has taken an 8 point lead. SUU is the other 2 loss team, besides MSU and WSU, so it would be nice to see them go down too. Either way though, the MSU women are now tied for 1st, and the men are still one game behind WSU, but tied in the loss column. So far this weekend the MSU teams are a combined 3-0, while the UM teams are a combined 0-4. All in all, this may be the best weekend for Bobcat basketball in a very long time. Hopefully both teams can win again on Monday night.

Couple corrections here, SUU is up 9 against EWU. Also the Griz women beat Weber Thursday so they're 1-3 on the weekend.John K wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:37 pmSo we beat 1st place Weber by 21, while UM lost to last place ISU by 23. Re: Cat men at Weber
2009 was about when the Wayne Tinkle success story began. He started as head coach in 2006 and had 5 good years from 2009 to 2014 and then went on to Oregon State. He's having an awful year at Oregon State. I watched a bit of the Oregon State at Colorado game tonight and Colorado crushed them. What I saw of Tinkle is he looked very very very old and worn out. Then I realized he's younger than me and it kind of gave me a chuckle as even though he's no longer a gris coach I enjoy seeing him lose.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:28 pmCats win by 21 in Ogden in February. Re: Cat men at Weber
I went back and edited my post, because I meant to say that SUU had taken an 8 point lead (at the time I made my original post), not EWU. That was just a typo. As for my other mistake, I guess that was just wishful thinking on my part. For some reason I had it in my head that the UM women had lost to WSU. Anyway, thanks for catching my errors, and correcting them.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:39 pmCouple corrections here, SUU is up 9 against EWU. I just scrolled through the MSU media guide and this is MSU's biggest victory in Ogden since the Big Sky Conference began in 1963. I didn't pay attention to the home games but there sure haven't been many 20 point wins over the years.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:36 pmHas MSU every beaten WSU by 21 points, period? *Edit: MSU beat Weber by 30 at home in the '86-'87 season. This is the second biggest margin of victory in the Big Sky era.

Re: Cat men at Weber
I remember back in 1996, we beat them by 17 (I think) at home. Of course that was the year we won the BSC regular season and tourney championships, and went to the NCAA tourney, when Sprinkle was a freshman. That's the biggest home win over Weber that I can remember. And that was 26 years ago.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:48 pmI just scrolled through the MSU media guide and this is MSU's biggest victory in Ogden since the Big Sky Conference began in 1963. SUU has it pretty well wrapped up now, up 9 with a minute to go. So MSU, SUU, and WSU all have 2 conference losses.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:39 pmCouple corrections here, SUU is up 9 against EWU. SUU wins by 12. Weber still in the driver's seat for the #1 seed as they've got a much easier February schedule than MSU/UM/SUU who play each other a bunch of times.John K wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:59 pmSUU has it pretty well wrapped up now, up 9 with a minute to go. Is it just me or does Battle play better when he lets his hair flow instead of being braided? Samson like.

Re: Cat men at Weber
I have to admit that when he was first hired, I wondered if he was really as good as advertised or if he got the job because the boosters liked him as a player.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:11 pmThis is why we wanted Sprinkle, shouldn't be surprised that he is getting results.
