Major Conference Commissioners Scuttle Enlarged Football Playoff

Unreal. I actually thought the eight-player FBS/BCS/whoever playoffs were going to be a done deal. But the FCS stands alone in declaring a true champion on the field for at least four more years.

This is great news for the prospect of the G5 breaking off and creating their own championship, at which point it would make sense for MSU, um, NDSU, etc. to move up to that level. The longer the G5 has nothing to play for the better the chances of this happening.

Regarding the link: Of course the guy paid by ESPN is going to criticize the decision not to expand the playoff field that ESPN has the TV/streaming rights to. The only reason they didn't expand was because they're waiting for the ESPN contract to run out. At that point it will expand at least enough so that all P5 conference winners get in (5 + 3 at large at a minimum).

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Thanks for your take on the situation. It makes sense and you may very well be right.
