any good tv on?

Post by Hell's Bells » Wed Apr 26, 2006 12:25 pm

one day i got sick and tired of watching the history channel and decided to surf over to VH-1. I was thinking that about all i would get was a Genesis video and maby a "I love the 70's" type of program...instead i got...

"what does snoop dog have in his IPOD??"
"top 100 child stars"
"tom cruise baby"
"noTORIus featuring Tori Spelling acting like a blond nitwit. i had to watch that at work recently and it featured Tori Spelling accidently getting stuck at a fast food joints drive through *she was in a streach hum-ve*"
at least a good percentage of the shows that were on VH-1, MTV, you know the former music channels, even the country music channel, was basically mental mastrubation for the celebertiy obsessed...who cares?
basically the same with mtv, just about any popular channel basically save USA's and TNT's showing of law and order reruns :D

Discovery Channel, especially any and all "Mythbusters" episodes.

Any original programming on HBO.

You are already all over the History Channel, so we share that fondness.

Comedy Central ... especially South Park and The Daily Show.

I'm with you in avoiding any and all shows that start with the assumption that we care about the lives of celebrities ... except "Entourage," because that's fictional ... and very funny.

agreed...i wonder why would anybody want to live their lives out in the open for everybody to see. then again i would not want to do that at all so it might be me.

i guess i should venture over to Comedy Central..

My favorite show at the moment is "The Office" on NBC (8:30 Thursdays in MT), which is a very funny adaptation of a British show of the same name.

Comedy Central is frequently good (South Park, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Reno 911, etc.).

I enjoy Olbermann on Countdown as well...a heck of a lot better than the other news shows on at that time in my opinion.

I'd suggest 24 as well, though if you haven't seen the season up to now you'll probably be completely confused...

Here's my pet peeve(s) w/24. WHO THE HELL IS DOING THE BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THESE PEOPLE? Fire that guy!

Keifer Sutherland cannot act. Other than that..............

We haven't watched 24 during it's normal air time. We started renting season 1 or 2 (can't remember which) on DVD and by the time we got to the last 4 episodes, we couldn't bring ourselves to suffer any longer. To this day, we don't know what happened.

The only show that I can say I watch religously is Sports Center --- how pathetic is that?

Congrats....you have outed yourself as un-American showing your dislike for 24. (Disregard the fact that the lead is Canadian)

Here's what I Tivo

The Mariners (much easier to watch them get hammered on fast forward than to waste 3 hours)

Colbert Report - Currently my favorite, Colbert has hit his stride, great stuff on that show

Daily Show - Quality as always

South Park - Towelie is my favorite character.

Wonder Showzen - Seriously dark and messed up comedy, not for the faint at heart, but some of their stuff is friggin hilarious

Myth Busters - Always fun

Perfect Disaster - Simulation of weather disasters, kind of interesting

The Boondocks - Now on reruns, can't wait for the 2nd season

The Surreal Life - I hate reality TV, but reality TV with a bunch of idiot celebrities I can't get enough of. (Yes I watched Flavor of Love and loved every minute of it).

Numbers is a fun twist of the law shows. And I always like the closing, the 2 brothers and their dad.

My Name is Earl is funny!

We've started recording all the "How It's Made" on Discovery or TLC.

I have a 6 and 9 year old I don't get to watch much TV until after 9:00

"Scrubs" and "My Name is Earl" I will make time for.

If I am flipping through the channels and "Myth Busters" is on nothing will put my butt on the coach and in a comatose state better than that show. But I will never really consciencely put time aside for it, it just usually just sucks me in.

My Guilt pleasure is reruns of "That 70's show" I really never watched the show up until the last few months, so there is just tons of episoded I have not seen. The kids on that show are my age at the time and Eric reminds me soo much of myself back then, only I without all the pot smoking (I think being an asthmatic kept me butt out of soooooo.. much troublein my younger days) and I did not have the hot redhead buxomy Amazon babe for a girlfriend (although, I could I did dream about it). You know basically all of his negative qualities
