Steve Colbert White house Press Dinner
Have you guy's seen the clips or whole speech that faux News Man and comedy central star Steve Colbert gave the other night at the White House Press corps. Dinner? It has me rolling in my seat. If you like biting humor that makes people squirm you HAVE to check it out. With President Bush less than 6 feet away Corbert in his faux Bill O'Reily persona lauds Bush in the same manner Archie Bunker stood up for racism and his version of the American dream. And with the same vigor goes after the press core leaving them ripped to shreds. GW and Laura Bush were not amused by this (but they should have), and the press core sat there politely giggling while biting the inside of their cheeks. I know a lot of political shows are making hay of this as either unfunny, disrespectful, but this is what comedy should be about. Subversive on many levels, over the top, and yet a little truth blended in. The press core and the White house might have done themselves a favor by not taking it all so seriously and laughed with him a little bit more.
That said it was one of the funniest moments on TV since the first year of Saturday night live.
Steve Colbert you have balls!!!!

while i have not seen the entire clip i understand it was indeed sharp and not well accepted by "W"...
it is too bad the "msm" and the "fair and balanced" net works don't possess the journalistic acumen or testicles or ovaries to take "W" to task on a daily basis...there is certainly enough material...they can't seem to control their obsequious behavior toward "W" long enough to advance their careers by reporting the obvious...they leave it to comedians and opinion writers...

Well Georgie may think Colbert crossed the line, but it was OK for him to make cracks about WMD a while ago. 2,500 dead soldiers and he cracking jokes about WMD.
