This game is the game of the year so far for the Cats. I predict if they lose this, they have no chance of winning the BSC and they miss the playoff's. Why, because my future predictions have them beating Suc State and EWU (yes, beating EWU), but losing to Griz. Therefore, if my predictions are right (and they always are because I'm a freakin' guru), the Cats will have 3 losses, which brings us to this game. No way they get in with 4 losses, thus the importance of this game.

So, my MSU/NAU prediction is........

**please hold**

We've gotten in with more than four losses. :)

But I don't see us losing 4 this year.

Wow, velochat, NAU is undefeated at home against bad teams, and winless on the road against good teams. That is a true sign of mediocrity!
I'll take the Cats 26 over NAU 16, in a game that features a lot of field goals. Cochrane is looking foreward to a high altitude dome stadium, and I think both teams are going to have a stiff defense.

while we're at it, here's Eastern's schedule. I'd say MSU and NAU have the tougher road to the title, compared to the Eagles and friz. Go Bengals! :

I think it is going to be a very close one, but I just can't see a high scoring shootout occurring. And I have to echo Cardiac's comments as I will be in Billings this weekend and it better be on.
Kmax, NAU has traditionally generally always put up points on us. The offense is starting to take form and our defense hasn't been near as consistent as it was last year. To think we are going to head to Flagstaff and stifle Murrietta and company is ideal, but I don't see it as happening. I see the defense giving up big plays but with the trend the offense has been setting I'm hoping (and, yes, predicting) that they will put up enough to pull out a rare W down there.
Not sure how you can say traditionally as they last two years they have put up 17 and 20 points respectively on the Cats. Yes I know the Cat's defense is not what it has been the last two years, but they aren't exactly slouches either and NAU's offense does not appear to be running up the score on anybody this year. Look at the scores for NAU posted earlier, their highest scoring game aside from Western New Mexico(Div II?) is 26 and that is against Suc State. Sorry, I just don't think NAU has the ability to put up 37 on the Cats. Gecko's prediction of a lower scoring contest is more what I am thinking, though I don't really like the idea of getting into a FG contest with Ernster on the other side.

Cat Sports 30

Post by BobcatBlood » Tue Oct 26, 2004 11:44 am

I loved what Kramer had to say about our string of losses at NAU on Cat Sports 30. To paraphrase - NAU hasn't beat us at their house the last twenty-five years because of voodoo or superstition or some kind of magic - they beat us because they were the better team. We are going to go down there to play football and the best team will win.

I think we're the best team - and we're beginning to peak.

Andre Fuller had an incredible game against SDSU. He is obviously still young - but he had a coming out party so to speak. Talk about some huge tackles and really nice defense. Six sacks is nothing to sneeze about and it was because our D was not going to be denied (even if their line wasn't the BEST, they didn't completely suck either).

We are throwing to our tight end and he can catch and run. We are calling 80% of our plays from the line of scrimmage and this is working. All of our receivers are beginning to "be football players". They are blocking and tackling down field allowing each other, as well as Domineck and Wolf to make some extra yards. Guinn had a big mess-up in not letting the onside kick just go out of bounds but he had a nice all around game (other than the aforementioned error) - finally! He didn't catch a lot of passes but he pushed the defense around to help others make bigger plays. Very good to see.

NAU hasn't shown the propensity to be any more consistent than we have but they don't seem to be building the way we are.

I say Cats start strong and finish strong. NAU hangs tough because they are tough.

Cats 30, NAU 17

I see this one as being a low scoring battle with the Cats edging out the Lumberjacks 14-10.

NAU is a very tough team on their home field. But I am done waffling, the CATS have shown me what they are capable of doing in difficult situations and I am confident they will come out of this game with a W. The final score is not important. CATS win, enough said.

Hey BAC, where's that reverse psychology pick of yours? Your 2-2, don't break the streak now! 8)

I was at the MSU/NAU game last year and saw NAU lose in the final minutes as Lulay orchestrated the "impossible". I thought NAU controlled the entire game up until the last 2 minutes. That was at your place, and this will be at our place. I think MSU has a great team, but I think their struggles in the dome continue...it will be a 60 minute battle, but I like our chances in the Dome to pull out another nailbiter.

NAU 24
MSU 21

Also, if you want more info on NAU, or you wanna talk about the game with other NAU fans, I have a fan chat Board on Delphi...free registration if you aren't already registered with Delphi. EWU also has a Delphi Board that the NAU one is linked to, which is pretty cool. I like Bobcat Nation's setup...I wish there was enough interest for NAU to have the same type of setup...until then, I will try to keep the free Board up and running on Delphi...

kmax, you should give the NAU fans a place to hangout on this board.

Dome kickers always look good. Carpenter will do fine indoors.

I can't keep up with this site as it is, much less adding more right now.

Very well could be, Cochrane has looked good, even on the couple misses he had last week, he had plenty of leg, just a bit off the mark. Maybe kicking off turf with no wind will be good for him, I hope so.

It's coming... but tradition dictates that I don't make the prediction until later in the week. We've got to keep this contrary mojo going, so I'm not changing a thing in my pattern.

Ok, my prediction is... (cover yer ears darlin')

NAU - 30
MSU - 27

I'm hoping the Cat/Griz are both undefeated in the BSC, so I hope I'm wrong on this. I tried to see the Cats winning this, but I put the numbers in the GWB-4/3 super computer with 6.4g RAM (Pentium 12, 1.2tb hard drive), consulted my 8 ball, and asked my lab/retriever and they all came up with a close loss for the Cats.

Let's hear it......

You really can't blame me. It's the PC, 8-ball, and dog's fault. :) I'll change my prediction if someone from the Nation takes me hunting on horseback and we shoot some Boone and Crocket size bull elk. Hell, for that I might even wear some Blue and Gold.

I've heard you always blame it on the dog CTOWM.

I would take you out, but I just finally got the Father-In-Law to take me out the "secret" hunting spot and I am not going to jeopardize that for a Griz fan. 8)

Isn't Carpenter the Griz kicker? Thanks for your vote of confidence!
