My buds and I of course, along with a lot of other 'Cat fans, other BSC fans, and other I-AA fans across the nation. The friz arrogance has pi$$ed off so many people that an FTG party is a great event.sdgrizfan_24 wrote:Who was saying poor Griz was it when MSU was watching the Griz from home the next week?GOKATS wrote:So true. Wrong team brokeback. You and your ilk are, for the most part, the very definition of bandwagon. Anymore, it seems that many of you became fans circa 1995 or 2001.bearBAC wrote:One of the most common kitten resposes!

How is then that Montana had one of the best home attendance averages in I-AA since the mid 80s?

Take off the blinders kitty -- we've been kickin ass for a while

oh and I think the Griz still OWNED the series record prior to 1995. See GrizLaw's post in the other thread.

Not so fast TG, as I don't believe you understand what the definition of "bandwagon" is. It is not just filling a stadium, but filling it with people who have no connection to the school. I can count numerous Griz fans in my area who go to Missoula for football games who are not from Missoula, did not attend UM, do not have a friend/relative that attended UM, or in absolutely no way have a connection to the either the school or the program. The only reason they have chosen to go to games or cheer for you is they like to party and, yes, you have a winning program and have been doing it for awhile. But, in the unfortunate event for you, if your program ever goes south, the wind and echoes will sweep through Wash/Griz like a toxic storm. On the other hand, many of us Bobcat fans have toiled through 20+ seasons of bad football and promises of what may be. But we have stuck it out and will continue to do so. And that's why we are very excited with the recent resurrgence of the program.tacoma_griz wrote:lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Wrong team brokeback. What?? Since when do you have to by an alumni or live in a particular city to be a rabid fan of any team?? How many people in Montana are Packer fans and have never even been to Wisconsin? How many are Notre Dame fans and don't know anyone who's attended there? Sorry, 1badbobcat, but you're premise is way weak.
My parents did not graduate from UM, have never lived in Missoula, and haven't lived in Montana for years. But I dare you to tell my Mom she's a bandwagon fan. She'll take you down. But only after they get done driving 9 hours each way to watch the Griz every Saturday.

Did those trips 9 hours each way start in the mid 90's?GrizinWashington wrote:What?? Since when do you have to by an alumni or live in a particular city to be a rabid fan of any team?? ND is notorious for having a huge fanbase that still can't identify where South Bend, Indiana is. The Packers aren't affiliated w/a university so that comparison lacks merit.
The bandwagon is representative of a huge portion of all fanbases, including your precious griz. I'm sure the bandwagon has started to grow for the Cats now that they've started a little streak of bitch slapping the griz too.

Would love to know if those 9 hour trips started when the Jizz were still playing in Dornblazer and getting thumped every Saturday, or did it just so happen to correspond with the construction of W/G and a few winning seasons? Ooops, she mighta caught the bandwagon!GrizinWashington wrote:What?? Since when do you have to by an alumni or live in a particular city to be a rabid fan of any team?? Started in the late 80s after WaGriz was built. That's when they moved. Before then, they drove over from Helena every weekend.1BadBobcat wrote:Would love to know if those 9 hour trips started when the Jizz were still playing in Dornblazer and getting thumped every Saturday, or did it just so happen to correspond with the construction of W/G and a few winning seasons? I find it more than a little ironic that cat fans are talking about Griz fans being bandwagon fans. Take a look at MSU attendance records over the last few years. Notice a trend? Correspond with win totals? Of course, when you have so little ammo to use against the Griz, I guess I can understand the feeble attempt.

Why would such a lowly program (according to griz fans) have a bandwagon?GrizinWashington wrote:Started in the late 80s after WaGriz was built. That's when they moved. Which side of the argument do you want to stand on guys?

I have never claimed the cat program to be lowly at all. I think it is a very strong I-AA program, and that it's on the rise in many aspects: play, support, etc. It's just not yet anywhere near where the Griz program is, and I think it's ridiculous for cat fans to say that Griz fans are wagon-jumpers. Winning always puts more butts in seats. But if Griz fans are wagon-jumpers, then so are Cornhusker fans. Or Oklahoma fans. Or Ohio State fans. Montana has drawn full houses long enough to simply say they have great, loyal fans. Arguments?

Oklahoma, OSU, Nebraska, etc had very successful traditions long before the early 90's. Of course, they're going to fill their stadiums.GrizinWashington wrote:I have never claimed the cat program to be lowly at all. Where were the griz fans before this very successful 15 or so year streak began?
That's all I'm asking.
Many of you are bandwagon fans and it's only necessary to point that out to the fans that exude such arrogance.
