Griz or Gris?
Figured this will get moved here anyway so might as well save KMAX a bit of work.
I've been pretty hands off on the posting around here but still read as often as I can.
Where in the hell did the "gris" term come from? More importantly why in the world are so many people using it? Maybe I need some context, but it's starting to drive me nuts.
Hit me with an answer then keep on keepin' on man.

I love the Bobcats and the Miami Hurricanes an unhealthy level

Re: Griz or Gris?
Last winter the Instagram account of the UM Women's Tennis team posted a photo where someone had tried to write "Go Griz" in the snow on their tennis courts, but they got the Z backwards so it actually looked like "Go Gris". The actual photo is posted towards the end of the "Cat Griz Meme Hall of Fame" thread.

This was one of my favorite moments on egris. I couldn't stop smiling and giggling for hours.

Hooked actually posted on BN that this was an acceptable form of the spelling according to some academia! Another Gris poster finally told him to shut up and that he was embarrassing Gris nation with his argument.

Maybe it’s the plural of “Gri.”

BBB, I've been wondering the same thing and didn't realize the absurd story behind it! This is amazing
Edit: the tweet is still up on the Griz Tennis account

Uhhh. The spelling looks good to me so far. It says Go G R I _. I can say with complete certainty that the girl next in line can open her blanket to reveal a perfect S.

I am guessing he is on his phone to check the spelling.
