Yup. They are the best baseball team in our conference.MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 10:24 pmBe careful what you wish for, UNCU is a laughing stock in football but is a great Big Sky member in most other sports. Dumping them for being bad at football does not help the Big Sky overall.Bobcatsinmso wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 7:02 pmI hope they do drop down or out, and Portland State as well. The conference is too crowded, and It would be good for every team to play against each other in the season IMO.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:46 pmI hope UNC doesn't drop football, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to build a decent program there. The lesson here is maybe it's not a good idea to hire a head coach with two years of coaching experience at the high school level, and whose idea of building a coaching staff involves hiring his equally unqualified son as offensive coordinator. How shocking that this didn't work out!

Re: McCaffrey Out at UNCU?
UNC really adds nothing to the BSC and I'd like to see them leave. They are never going to have the support to improve much in football. D2 is where the fit better financially.
Portland state is similar and needs to either drop to D2 or try to join the WCC which doesn't play football.

Re: McCaffrey Out at UNCU?
Finally read the article and this part caught my eye:
No, that is shameful. UNCU is a D1 team, not a JC. If they aren't going to act like one they need to be kicked out of the BSC.Whoever UNC lands, the booster said the Bears program may not ever be a powerhouse. It may operate more like a junior college, where players develop and go to larger programs.
That, however, is not shameful, he said. It would speak to the training and development they received while in Greeley. Two of Collins’ recruits who left last year are contributing regularly on the Power Five level.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

With the transfer portal making it so easy now for players to switch schools, you could really say the same about any FCS program. Look at Connor Wood and TJ Session from MSU who were starters in the SEC and Pac-12 this year. Having guys who move up to FBS should be considered as a good thing because it shows how strong the program is to be able to recruit and develop those players.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 8:55 pmFinally read the article and this part caught my eye:

Are you just trying to be argumentative or do you really not understand the difference between UNCU and MSU?MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 7:17 amWith the transfer portal making it so easy now for players to switch schools, you could really say the same about any FCS program. One team is saying they exist as a feeder school for better programs, and justify that with examples of players that moved up, and the other is competing for championships at the conference and FCS level and unfortunately loses some key contributors to FBS schools as a result of their success.
The first paragraph I posted is the damning part. Every team has players on it that deserve a shot at a higher level. The difference is that some teams aren't even trying to compete while others are. I would also need proof that the players UNCU lost got their next opportunity due to anything that happened in Greeley and not just because they were under-recruited in the first place. To come out and admit that you aren't trying should be enough to be kicked out of the conference and sent back down to D2 where you belong.

Re: McCaffrey Out at UNCU?
The team isn't saying anything, that quote sounds bad but it comes from an anonymous booster and not the program itself. My point is that what the booster is saying about UNCU developing talent and then losing it through the portal to FBS programs is going to be the new reality for all FCS teams and not just struggling ones like UNCU. The booster even goes on to say in the second paragraph that this isn't necessarily a bad thing or something that reflects poorly on the program. But the successful teams will be the ones like MSU that have a deep enough roster to replace their FBS losses with guys who are just as good if not better than the ones who left.coloradocat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 9:10 amAre you just trying to be argumentative or do you really not understand the difference between UNCU and MSU?MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 7:17 amWith the transfer portal making it so easy now for players to switch schools, you could really say the same about any FCS program. UNCU is hiring another Ed...Ed Lamb in this case, who was SUU's head coach from '09 to '15 and won a Big Sky championship there before leaving for an assistant job at BYU. Seems like a good hire for them.

Holy smokes they just showed tight pants himself on SNF. And his dad. How is it that one sibling got literally all of the talent?
