A sweep this weekend is absolutely crucial to maintain 1st place over NAU and UM. Weber is 1-10 and Idaho State is 1-7 in their last 8 games after starting 3-0, with the only win in that stretch coming over Weber last weekend. MSU tends to suffer from cold shooting starts that allow lesser opponents to stay close or take the lead early, hopefully they can avoid that this weekend. Go Cats!

Absolutely atrocious. Can anyone on MSU make a shot from in close? Anyone? Please?

It defies understanding this deep in the season how our bigs can’t make close shots underneath, or have the footwork/shot fakes/fade away to get a more open shot. I’m almost speechless at this point.

A lot better defensively in the 2nd half. White is finally getting some fouls called on her drives to the basket and making her free throws. Several Cats are in foul trouble tho. Kola not one of them!

MSU just firing up bad shots early in the shot clock, trying their best to give Weber a way back into the game. Sheesh.

Wow, UM was upset by Idaho State tonight. If NAU loses at Sac MSU will get a 2 game lead back.

Following gamecast it looked IdSt won in the last seconds.

Yep, two free throws with less than a second left. The foul call against UM looked pretty questionable.

Weber State pulled every little trick in the book to get under out skin and in our heads. Lots of reaching, grabbing, and elbows, and us not getting to the line. They really uglied it up. Then the 4th quarter came and Darian just boat raced them-beating them to the key, drawing fouls and hitting shots. It was a clinic. Early foul trouble with Kola and Lexi screwed up our rotations. The margin of victory was about what was expected. The way to get there was not. Good to win ugly when you need to.

NAU gets absolutely gifted a win by the refs in Sacramento. Sac had a clean rebound up 6 with 40 seconds left and the ref called them for stepping out of bounds when the player was about 3 feet in bounds. Reviewed the play, call stood somehow. Pathetic.

Kola Bad Bear! Just got a look at the Livestats. Kola played 22 minutes and was +22. That means we gained a point per minute while she was on the court, the best performance of the night. Things go better with a Kola. 💙💛😺

There was a scrum on the floor and I couldn’t see clearly if words were exchanged or excess physicality fighting for the ball. But both Deden of Bobcats and Taylor for Wildcats received technical fouls on the play. Gonna look at it on replay tomorrow.

Taylor had been locking arms with Kola and Lexi the whole game. Lexi got sick of it. Taylor had locked up Lexi and Lexi just pulled her down in wanting to go for the ball. I suspect the double T (which was whistled immediately) was for the initial lockup by Taylor (very against the rules) and Lexi for bringing her down. From my view on ESPN+ I agreed with the call. I think it helped clean up the situation.

I had been watching it develop (and pointed it out to my wife) with both Lexi and Kola because the same offense was committed throughout the game in Ogden. It must be a Utah thing — that was an absolute staple of SUU’s play which they used to upset us there a couple of years ago. I was soooo happy when they left the Conference. Would like to see the bigs coach work the refs on this one. Mr. Belo can also speak to the issue — he’s had a couple of takedowns (but no two points) in the same situation.

Thanks for the summary. All I saw was Lexi's face making contact with the Weber player's foot while on the ground and somehow Lexi was called for a foul. There was a lot more leading up to it. Kola was also on the sideline early getting a bloody lip treated. Weber was trying to get in our heads. It worked for most of 3 quarters.

And to the credit of the ‘Cats players and coaches, we do not seem to blatantly participate in the elbow lock. I can just hear the opposing coaches if we did. It seems to be the purview of teams that are desperate — and I wish the Big Sky would bother to make it a “point of emphasis.”
