Re: MBB at ISU
This has to be about the ugliest win I can recall in recent years. I keep waiting for the game when this team...instead of shooting
something like 2 for 14 from three, actually hits the shots they are capable of and goes about 10 for 16 or so. When that happens, this
team will beat anybody in the Big Sky. These shooters are definitely capable of making shots. When will it happen???? Let's start with the Griz next Saturday and then keep it up. Battle was the go to guy at the end along with Brown at the FT line.

Agreed. Can't hit the broad side of a barn from deep, and they couldn't get any easy shots to fall. So many missed bunnies. But then again, the Bengals were pretty bad, too. At one point, the Cats were on an 8-0 run, but had missed 9 shots in a row. Anyone thinking of watching the replay if you didn't see it live, don't. It was maddening.
Epically bad performance, but somehow found a way to win with team defense, solid night by Osobor, Brown's steals and free throw shooting, and some clutch shots at the end by Battle.
At least they get a chance to rest up with a whole week off before Cat/gris.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

We won the F'ing game and everyone is whining about how we did it. Are you guys serious? I was at the games this weekend. We were much better defensively last night. Really good road win. As long as we D up like that we will have a chance to win every game. Go Cats!!

How's the atmosphere in that ISU gym? Are they better off in there than Holt Arena? Is it fixed up nice at least?dwainegf wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 11:56 amWe won the F'ing game and everyone is whining about how we did it. Are you guys serious? I was at the games this weekend. It is much better than Holt Arena for basketball. The seats closer to the court are pretty good. The upper level has benches. It is relatively loud, however, they still have trouble drawing fans.

Unless you like hockey without pads, do something useful with your time like polish the silverware or organize your sock drawer. There’s only two ways to “hold” Belo scoreless, and they both nearly (should have) fouled out earlier.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:31 pmDebating whether I should watch the replay or save the aggravation, enjoy the win, and move on. Don't like to see us not playing well going into Cat-griz. Especially since they seem to be playing really well.
The good — Darius Brown II was stellar on defense and, along with Tyler Patterson, harassed the Bengal guards dribbling and passing until I thought they’d call for TROs. The whole team played defense. I like that they are switching more on ball screens. RaeQuan Battle gave us the points we needed to pull away at the end with two beautiful jumpers around the free throw line. And Great Osobor was Great with a double-double. Caleb Fuller played hard, hard, hard all night.
Aww, shucks, watch the last 8-10 minutes. That was the game.

Re: MBB at ISU
We've been hearing/discussing for weeks that the Cats keep winning despite not playing their best basketball. Well it finally bit us at Weber, and we still aren't playing anywhere near our ceiling.
Good news is we have 3 straight home games before heading to Cheney for the finale. I think at worst we go 2-2, we are 2.5 games ahead of Weber so I think we've pretty much locked up the 2 seed, which is very desirable for this tournament (if you can't get the 1). We don't want to slip down to the 3 or even 4.

Re: MBB at ISU
If MSU finishes 2-2, then the only way they don't get the 2 seed is if Weber wins out and ties them, then wins the tiebreaker by having a win over EWU. If the season ended today the bracket under the new format would be as follows:
1 EWU vs 9 Idaho or 10 NAU
4 UM vs 5 ISU
2 MSU vs 7 PSU or 8 UNCU
3 Weber vs 6 Sac
1 EWU vs 9 Idaho or 10 NAU
4 UM vs 5 ISU
2 MSU vs 7 PSU or 8 UNCU
3 Weber vs 6 Sac

Re: MBB at ISU
That would be a great bracket for MSU. The Cats match up well with all 4 of those teams. Just have to figure out a way to consistently hit open shots and make some 3's. Don't want to see NAU before the title game, they're a dangerous team.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 11:53 amIf MSU finishes 2-2, then the only way they don't get the 2 seed is if Weber wins out and ties them, then wins the tiebreaker by having a win over EWU.
