WBB vs. Idaho State
These two teams have developed a bit of rivalry over the years. ISU has struggled a little more than usual this season. They've lost a lot of talent to transfers and graduation. But they still have Callie Bourne who's been there forever and is a good player. ISU stole one on Thursday at um. Hopefully our team plays better than they did vs. Weber State. I think they will.

Kind of a frustrating game so far, Cats up by 5 but feels like it should be more. Bello for ISU barely played due to fouls but MSU didn't take advantage as well as they could have. ISU hit a couple prayers at the end of the shot clock. Hoping to see more Kola in the second half.

Limardo has become one of the best defensive players I've ever watched for the Cats.

Cats win 70-53! The fourth quarter was pretty ugly and somehow turned into a foul fest in the last few minutes, but ISU could do nothing on offense after their run midway through Q3. Always brings a smile to my face to see MSU take down Sobelewski.

I was sitting down close and was very impressed with the effort on defense. The shooting was good today as well. If the Lady Cats play like this the rest of the way, I think they will earn another championship banner. But that's a big if. Gotta keep it going, starting with next week against the Lady Griz. Let's get a huge raucous crowd in the Brick! Go Cats!

NAU lost to Portland State today, so MSU has a 2-game lead over NAU and UM heading into next weekend.

Re: WBB vs. Idaho State
Got off to a good start. Played really good defense. Marah Dykstra had a really nice game after being kinda quiet the second half of the season. Seniors Darian White and Kola Bad Bear did senior things. Kola and all the bigs did a good job of kicking it out for wide open shots.
Callie Bourne is a good player and everything ISU does goes through her. MSU defended her with everybody and it worked pretty well. Bourne had to work really hard for her points.

That's great news. NAU sweeps us, but PSU sweeps NAU. It's a weird league sometimes.

Bourne is a tough competitor! If you noticed we tried to keep her off her left hand and she still scored! I saw her only go to the hoop once with her right hand….rest was always left…and we were overplaying that hand and she still got home.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:29 pmGot off to a good start. - Coach Bin gets wins 309 and 310 moving into second place for wins by Big Sky coaches, trailing only the great Selvig from over the hill. Coach joked that in college she played against both Carla Taylor and Selvig while at Boise State. Kinda makes you feel old!
- NAU had a tough weekend. They lost Montana Oltrogee in the Idaho State game when she took a hit from behind by Bello on her lower leg. She did not play against Sac State or against Portland State. NAU still pulled out the OT win against Sac without her. Oltrogee is the leading scorer and rebounder for NAU so could be a big loss if she is not able to get back to close out the stretch run. Does annyone else have any inside news on Oltrogee prognosis for returning?
- Season going down to the wire again. We certainly have four big games to close out our schedule. Including tough road trip to Sac State and Portland State.

A culmination of the ISU coach riding one of the refs all night. In actuality on the particular play, very little. There was initial confusion over who the foul was called on and he said something trying to figure it out. He got a warning very early on in the game and didn’t back off much. It was a matter of when, not if, he was going to get one.

Pretty much what I heard too. I asked some people sitting on that side and they indicated he had been “chirping” at the ref the whole game……but it all game to a head on that foul call. Folks I spoke with didn’t hear what he said on the foul though? I think he was close to getting a second T because he didn’t exactly take it “lightly” before walking back to the huddle.snarf wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 10:20 amA culmination of the ISU coach riding one of the refs all night. Re: WBB vs. Idaho State
I did watch the NAU vs Idaho State game. Oltrogge gets hurt with 6:21 left in Q4. An ugly sequence. Loose ball scramble. An ISU body on the floor, Oltrogge over her trying to get the ball, Bello from ISU dives into the muck and takes out Oltrogge from the side of the knee knocking her back over the girl on the floor. She is instantly in some serious pain on the floor and is taken to the locker room on others shoulders. Bello is called for a flagrant foul resulting in technical shots and then an NAU fan who apparently thought it was a cheap shot is escorted from the gym. A bit chippy for a few sequences after that. Hard to tell from the TV footage but based on what I could see it will be just short of a miracle to see her back for the season….she had a good career in the Big Sky….I think I heard the announcer say she ranked 8th all time at ISU in made 3 point shots before moving on to NAU….and she was leading NAU in scoring and rebounding for the season.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:51 pmIndeed good weekend.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:33 pmThat's great news. Re: WBB vs. Idaho State
Bad news about Oltrogge. I’m glad Bello finally got called on her stuff, but it took a serious injury to get a flagrant. Retribution for the transfer? She’s getting away with absolute mayhem and will until the officials crack down on her. Reminds me of the Montana sisters, one of whom gave Madison Jackson a concussion a couple of years ago. It’s ISU’s M.O. It’s really refreshing to be a fan of a team that just wants to play basketball.
