We just swept the griz in men's basketball for the first time in like 25 years! Try to be happy for like 5 seconds, Bobcat fans!

Rivalry games are generally a little ugly. The constant whistles made it impossible to get much rhythm. But the W is all that matters, period.

The men and women swept their series and the FB team whipped the gris. Try and enjoy the evening.

These are the type of games we always lost to them in the past. Cat-griz men's games are always ugly. Their strategy, hit Belo and Osobor with a sledgehammer, the refs can't possibly call every one right? The fouls were out-of-wack so the refs feel obligated to even it up by calling the ticky tacky on the other end. Patterson's threes on either side of halftime were huge. Raequan Battle can just go get points when nothing else is working. Darius Brown loves playing the grizzlies obviously. Robert Ford and Raequan Battle so clutch with those free throws at the end.

This was a historic day, celebrating the football team, and both basketball teams getting the season sweep. That may be the first time that's ever happened. Imma enjoy it!

Nice win - but damn, MSU could not get a stop in the last 10 minutes to save their lives. Thank goodness they were able to finally hit some 3s to build that lead or it would've been a different story. Unless someone else scored late I think 4 guys scored every point for the Griz.

Battle saves MSU again - concerned about Jubrile, he just doesn't look like himself. Maybe he just never really got over that knee injury from last year.
He's a good defender but his offense has a lot to be desired. He has a touch like a blacksmith, can't shoot a turnaround "J", can't make up his mind when he has the ball in the low blocks. He has to practice some kind of offensive move after receiving the ball, or throw it back out and re-post. He can't stand there, wait for the double, then force a shot into it. Osobar is becoming a better offensive threat because Belo has become one dimensional and stagnant. You can tell because when they both play Battle and Osobar are the #1 scoring options.

People are going to roast me on this and I get it but we are not a great basketball team. We play good defense in a sub par conference and we can’t shoot the ball.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see us get bounced in the second round of the BSC tourney.
Have you watched EWU?
Just the one game where they ended our 14-game home court streak.

Jubrile’s turning point this season may have been the hand injury — it’s obviously really set him back with pain, reduced hand strength, or something. After he lost the grip on a ball tonight my wife pointed out the bigger bandage was back again.

I was struck by the similarities between the men’s and women’s games tonight. Close game to the half, open a 12-14 point lead in the third, let it slip to six, give up another three-pointer, make some free throws (thank you Kola and RaeQuan) to get up by four or five. I thought the men were going to give up a buzzer beater like the women did to cut the final margin to razor thin. The final scores were close at 72-68 and 75-73.

Wow! I’ve been waiting a long time for a football win and two basketball sweeps. WAY TO GO, CATS!!!!!!!! And Coaches Trish Binford, Danny Sprinkle and Brent Vigen — wouldn’t trade any of you.

Is it too much to ask to get a semi- neutral announcers?

"We only got him back for a second"
"He missed his second one I don't think it's because WE jinxed him"
I’m not sure who the younger one is, but I don’t care for him.
You mean Colter?

I think they have to be referring to the CW broadcast. I would guess that most here know who Colter and Ian are.

Danny has the men in tournament form. Let's go!

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

I've been a diehard Bobcat fan since I was a freshman in 1977-78 (yes, I'm really old), and in the 45 years since then, I don't believe we've ever swept them 5-0 in the three major sports during the same academic year, or calendar year. I suspect that's probably never happened before, since WBB became an officially sanctioned NCAA sport. Neither the women nor the men played their best games yesterday, but they both did what they had to do to pull out victories against teams that had both been playing their best ball of the season, going into those games, Congrats and kudos to the Bobcat men and women!!

Really interesting listening to our assistant coach Andy Hill on the post game show talk about the defense. In the griz resurgence they've been leading the league in 3-pointers. So, the whole defensive strategy was to take the 3 away. Thus Bannon did get loose, but they had to make their comeback 2 points at a time. Obviously, Moody was the prime focus-that guy is a lot better than he ever showed at SUU when he was there. Anyway, them only making 5 threes instead of 9 or 10 was a big difference.

I hope we don't run into them in the tournament. Refs do tend to "let them play" more in the tournament and their defensive strategy appears to be hack hack hack until the refs just get tired of calling it. That first half was a hack-fest like I've never seen.

Appeared to me that the only hope they had of stopping Belo and Osobor was to foul. Had to be part of their strategy or they would have stopped. Some games they would get away with it and it would work out for them. Or, if we hadn't made the foul shots they'd have come out ahead.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

The 1st half of the men's rivalry game in Bozeman included a glut of fouls, making the second half intriguing "as both coaches were forced to put all their cards on the table," as @AndrewH202 wrote

Went through history of Bobcat athletics to confirm: following MSU's win over UM in men's hoops Saturday, the Bobcats beat the Griz in #BigSkyFB, #BigSkyWBB & #BigSkyMBB in the same year for the first time ever.

@Colter_Nuanez is the below highlighted sentence an incomplete thought? Just curious.
On an evening in which Montana State unveiled its first Big Sky Conference championship football banner and it’s women’s basketball team completed yet another sweep of the rival Lady Griz, Sprinkle led his alma mater to another landmark accomplishment.

Since 2012**! I just fixed it, thank you so much for the edit!

Saturday was a first time experience for me calling the game and then trying to write about both games afterward. My brain was fried! Appreciate the help and thanks for the feedback from everyone.

I’m just a writer who somehow landed on a mic so I try the best I can, but as with everything, more reps make you better. Thanks for listening and watching and for the feedback!

All good Colter, I get it and figured you'd appreciate the assist, as I know you're a stickler for details. Good job with the color by the way. I watched the game late Saturday night on ESPN+, keep up the good work! You too @SACCAT, hopefully Chester is proud of their native son!
