Open Letter to MSU Athletes, Staff, Boosters and Fans
I am not the worlds best wordsmith but I felt this was important.
It is a tough time for MSU athletics, the actions of a few are reflecting badly (to say the least) on our whole community. These actions have embarrassed us all and have deeply hurt the Bozeman community in immeasurable ways. Those of us who follow Bobcat athletics know the high quality of the athletes, coaches and administrators involved in this program. We also know the high level of expectations our fans and boosters have for those involved in the Bobcat program because we are those fans and Boosters.
While I rightfully can not speak for this board all by myself, I would hope enough of my fellow Bobcatnation would join me by adding there screen name below in saying, we are very very proud how the vast majority of the Bobcat Athletes have represented themselves and our University though out their career, and are very proud of our current athletes. To the administration and coaches we are proud of level and quality of athletes you strive to have involved in our programs. It maybe a difficult time but you has our full support, and we are proud to call you Bobcats. To the Bozeman community and more specifically the families and friends who were directly impacted by the events of the last week our hearts and prayers go out to you, in this difficult time.

I don't think what the athletes do, in a criminal nature, away from MSU has a thing to do with MSU and anyone who thinks this reflects badly on MSU needs to re-think the situation.
MSU doesn't offer courses on how to be a drug dealer or how to kill or rape. It wasn't MSU's fault that O'Brien dealt drugs or Brown commited rape or someone was killed. MSU has nothing to do with an alum being involved in a criminal activity. MSU assists and encourages those alums that wish to better themselves, but it doesn't have a thing to do with anyone involved in criminal behavior.
I certainly don't think anyone associated with MSU should feel they have any role in what has gone on regarding crime by former students.

Thanks MslaCat, well said! When the actions of a few end up hurting many it isn't easy, but it makes me proud to think of all the great things and people associated with MSU, Bozeman and Bobcat Athletics.
To the Current Players, Coaches, and Administrators keep up your hard work and dedication. Your efforts don't go ignored!

I have to agree with Longhorn on this one. I am a third generation MSU student and I don't plan to abandon being a Bobcat fan for this incident.longhorn_22 wrote:I was born a Bobcat and I will die a Bobcat. It seems that I will always know someone that will be attending or has attended MSU. I am proud to say that I am associated with this University.
