This will be a stiff test for the Cats today in Seattle. The Redhawks won the regular season title last year in the WAC and they return some key players.

The Cats Mbb program is clearly trying to develop a footprint in the talent drenched Seattle basketball geographic area. It's a homecoming for Coach Logie, Chika Nduka, and Eddie Turner III. There likely will be a contingent of Blue and Gold people behind the Bobcats bench.

Seattle definitely has some height and are taking advantage of that, however MSU is ahead 10-8 5 minutes in.

I know we’re a game and 4 minutes into the season but I NEED to see more from Brandon Walker and Chika Nduka. Neither of them look like they want to rebound and they’re slow and lazy when they’re on help side defense. Like I said it’s still early but I need to see way more from them

I'm cringing on every missed shot. Bodies are colliding and we almost never seem to get the board...

I post this and finally we got a few. And thankfully we call a time out... Hope we can regroup a little. Both teams seem to be rushed and a bit nerve wracked.

First half was more or less even. I'm only able to listen on the radio, and it's a good fill-in announcer btw. We are in a tight contest, but my gut tells me the second half could get ugly unless we can defend and rebound at a higher level. We've done a good job on Tyson (so far) but he's so explosive that even though he's only got 5 at half, he could still score 30.

Just a wild scrum so far.. We are down at the half 25-30. Coach Logie has gotten his first Technical foul, so there's that.

About 5 to go. Back to back ? calls. They came flying in over back of 2 Cats for a put back they got ball of tip, then a block call that could have been a charge. Can't get a rebound and all bigs but Lecon bench. bench.

And Patrick MaHomes now plays for Cat Basketball

Seriously how do they let him keep calling him Mahommes? The other announcer knows his name.

Damn, great look at the end there but an inch too strong! Big picture, Cats looked very competitive on the road against a team that would likely finish in the top half of the Big Sky.

How did Ford's shot not fall. Unkind rim. Seattle was supposed to be fairly good this year-no?

Picked 3rd in the WAC preseason poll.

Overall not a bad effort!
These are the types of games you ask for in the non-conference season. A slug-fest that comes down to the final shot. Ford had a great look at the end and it just didn't fall (let's hope the basketball gods reward him with one when it really matters at the end of the season!).
I didn't like seeing the Cats getting out-rebounded by 7 and giving up 9 O-boards. Chika and B Walker lack physicality on defense and on the glass and that needs to be fixed before conference play.
Some points on the offense:
- The offense looks like it's gelling a bit since NWIC and it looks to be a system that guys like Walker, Rob, Sam, Mahomes ;), and Patterson can thrive in.
- I think Walker has a nice offensive package that reminds me a bit of Osobor.
- Patterson and Goracke need to be the snipers and shoot at a high level to keep the offense rolling
- They need more post entries off the rub and slip screen actions from the wing. Walker and Lecholat had multiple wide-open layups if the guards were able to get the ball to the post

It's only game 2 and there's lots to improve on, but man I have a GREAT feeling about next Thursday!!
