Thank you. Thought that might have been the case. I thought maybe if there was a foul and a stoppage, then San Jose could have maybe called timeout, but I’m not savvy on some of those kind of rules.SACCAT wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 10:21 amThey said that San Jose got a Timeout called before the foul, but they didn't have the ball. So it was a blown call. Binford then called a timeout right after to calm her players down, as they were not happy.tdub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 10:04 amI’m still trying to figure out late in the game when the Cats got the rebound, looked like a hard foul, and the whistle blew for a SJSU timeout. Then the Cats piggybacked another time out after that. I don’t have a deep level of basketball knowledge, but I was confused if there was actually a foul called as never saw the official signal it, and if not, how did they call timeout with the Cats having possession? MSU inbounded the ball after that sequence. Nobody seemed to have an issue with it so I was confused.SACCAT wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 9:04 amThoughts from last night...
1) Never realized how much I use Live Stats as a crutch, until it doesn't work for a game. Bad night for me.
2) San Jose State hit like the Cats LB's hit. It was VERY physical, and the poise of the Cats is the reason they won. They didn't get pulled into. For a young team, that was HUGE!! There is a fine line between "Letting them play" and what happened last night.
3) San Jose came into the game with 40 3 point attempts TOTAL... They shot 23 last night, hitting 6.
4) Cats won 3 of the 4 quarters
5) I said it before the season, this team will take time to jell, but once they do... Look out.

Good prep for our upcoming games against Idaho.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Re: Wbb vs San Jose
I'm usually in attendance but was out of town and watched it on ESPN+ and was able to sync our announcers to the game. Agree that the officials pocketed their whistles. Basketball officiating is SO INCONSISTENT. It's very frustrating.
This win was needed. I'm really interested to see how our depth develops. I keep hoping that Lindsey Hein will get to the point where she contributes. Also wanting to see development from Brooke Berry. This team really has potential if some development of the younger players happens.

I thought a foul could be called after a timeout. I guess it would have to be a technical?tdub wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 11:05 amThank you. Thought that might have been the case. Re: Wbb vs San Jose
I once had a player get punched…no call. I went ballistic and the ref told me he saw it but since it was during a dead ball there’s nothing he could call. Needless to say that didn’t sit well. I told him that’s good then he can’t T me either!Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 11:56 pmI thought a foul could be called after a timeout. Re: Wbb vs San Jose
I agree and am already excited about the athleticism and leadership of this team. As previously mentioned, getting Madison back was huge.
