MBB: Green Bay/UC Riverside
The next two games played tonight (11/20/23) and Wednesday are going to tell us a lot about Logies first. Two Big Sky caliber teams (let the debate begin) in Green Bay and UC Riverside. Was the win against Cal a fluke or do we have a very competitive Big Sky team here? In the preseason pols Green Bay (playing tonight) was picked to finish dead last in the Horizon League while UC Riverside was picked to finish 7th (out of 11) in the Big West. I really believe this Bobcat team has a lot of growing to do as the entire team learns the new (to them) system. It should be an interesting few days

Green Bay was 3-29 (ouch) last year but somehow only lost by 11 at Wisconsin. UC Riverside was 22-12 including wins over Weber and Idaho (in Moscow).

Re: MBB: Green Bay/UC Riverside
ESPN's matchup predictor has MSU beating GreenBay 90% of the time, UCRiverside 75% and then on the 26th against Long Beach State it is a 50/50 matchup. Interestingly, Long Beach is coming off a win against Michigan. We will most certainly have a better feel for our team after this week! Wish i could be in Bozo to take in all the action.

Damn, Patrick is in a boot and on crutches.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Up 18-6 early. Ford didn’t score last game has 13. 3-4 3s

The GB bench is louder than this anemic crowd. It's annoying. They play legit defense though.

Re: MBB: Green Bay/UC Riverside
End of 1st half thoughts. MSU’s fans really aren’t that good… I might get some flack for that but I’ve seen Jr high games played on Monday’s with more fans and students in the stands. Feels like I’m watching a benefit dinner auction rather than a basketball game with the lack of energy there is. That needs to change BIGTIME
2nd thought. Losing McMahon for the year is very bad. His motor helps makeup for the lack of motor Chika and Brandon Walker possess. Those 2 might be the laziest basketball players I’ve watched play at the college level. For Walker to be walking down the court after only playing 2 minutes is seriously concerning for the pace of play Logie wants to run at.

This crowd is pitiful. I find some loud people behind the Bobcats bench, thank God. I'll try to whip them into shape!Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:39 pmEnd of 1st half thoughts. To be fair we are not an explosive team! Look at our athleticism - it’s non existent. Nobody wants to come and see guys that are and also slow that miss 3 pointers.

Short slow guys who can't shoot don't bring out the fans. No doubt. This is actually sad. Cal must be really bad. Yikes

Methinks it’s gonna be a long season. We’re seven minutes into the second half and just scored. Especially losing McMahon.

Can't shoot 3-20 on mostly wide open 3s and expect a lot of energy from the fans.

Cal was bad yes but walker saved us.
We are not gonna win any awards for athleticism,
To me if we can’t shoot from the 3 we can’t win.
Lord knows we have not been able to rebound.

Re: MBB: Green Bay/UC Riverside
Well from what I've seen so far I think the MSU women's team will offer much more competitive games within conference play.
Two starters for the guys are out so maybe I'm overreacting, but this is really ugly. But the way I look at it Logie has a great W-L record and he will get it done eventually. With all the guys who left last year we can't expect a miracle Logie's first year.

I have a question for you guys who watch more basketball than I do. Has Patterson ever driven to the bucket in the last 4 years? And how many rebounds has he had in his career?

Re: MBB: Green Bay/UC Riverside
He’s done it a couple time this year. In Sprinkle’s system he was really limited to only shooting the 3 and they didn’t rely on him for anything else. He’s shown he has a little 1 dribble pull up but they need him to drive more. All of them need to stop jacking 3’s and get to the rim more

This game shows us just how far we've dropped since Danny left. No talent, no crowd, no leadership on the court, just nothing. It's sad but reality.
