O'Reilly -- I need some help
Okay, Bill in confusing me. Just so we can keep our black and white perspective on the world straight, but somebody please explain one thing to me? Do the evil liberals love Israel (because many Jews are liberal) or do they hate Israel (because they support the Palestinian cause)?
It's still a bit amazing to me that he is able to pull a liberal/conservative thing out of even this issue, but he just confuses the heck out of me in the process. For those of us too busy to think for ourselves and rely on talking heads to tell us who is good and who is evil, where are we now to turn. It appears that liberals are on both sides!

it's the same old tired rhetoric of the media is liberal and everything that's wrong in the world either comes from the left or is supported by the left. bill oreilly has to keep up this rhetoric or he will lose his audience and go back to being a nothing before he jumped on rush's coat tails. some day the far right will learn to think for themselves and not have to be told what to think. when this happens oreilly, hannity, and limbaugh will be out of business.

Yeah, it wouldn't break my heart to see them follow suit with Janeane Garofalo, Al Franken, et al from Air America.hokeyfine wrote:it's the same old tired rhetoric of the media is liberal and everything that's wrong in the world either comes from the left or is supported by the left. bill oreilly has to keep up this rhetoric or he will lose his audience and go back to being a nothing before he jumped on rush's coat tails. some day the far right will learn to think for themselves and not have to be told what to think. when this happens oreilly, hannity, and limbaugh will be out of business.
A nice snip on the both the edges of the right and left would do some good in my opinion.

Amen to that. Fewer hysterical rants from both sides would make for a lot more useful public debate on virtually every issue.lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:Yeah, it wouldn't break my heart to see them follow suit with Janeane Garofalo, Al Franken, et al from Air America.hokeyfine wrote:it's the same old tired rhetoric of the media is liberal and everything that's wrong in the world either comes from the left or is supported by the left. bill oreilly has to keep up this rhetoric or he will lose his audience and go back to being a nothing before he jumped on rush's coat tails. some day the far right will learn to think for themselves and not have to be told what to think. when this happens oreilly, hannity, and limbaugh will be out of business.

Oh Lordy. Be careful where you say that. Some people get really pissed.mslacat wrote:Actually Jesus was a liberal!!hokeyfine wrote:I agree, a little thinking and discovery by oneself would help the dolts on the left and right......news alert, God doesn't hate you if your on the left, heck he even tolerates W.
They would say that all that talk about pacifism, helping the poor, rich people not being able to get into heaven, he without sin, turn the other cheek, do unto others ... that all of that was taken out of context and that Jesus was actually a supply side hawk who wanted poor people to lift themselves up by their bootstraps and to quit whining.
Strange, that argument....

And just to ratchet things up a bit ... that's why I can not, in good faith, claim to be a Christian ... because I am a firm capitalist, and the teachings of Jesus conflict with my fiscal conservative nature.
So I can say that Jesus seems like a great guy and all ... I just don't care for his politics.

I have to admit, I actually LOLd at the notion of Jesus being a "supply-sider."Bay Area Cat wrote:...and that Jesus was actually a supply side hawk who wanted poor people to lift themselves up by their bootstraps and to quit whining.
I wonder how Jesus felt about reducing the tax rate on corporate dividends to 15 percent? Or, what do you think his views are on Subchapter-S reform?
